Hi ladies, I'm back from Vacation and I am already missing my family.

I am loving to 2.5 square guilt patterns everyone is posting. I love scrappy quilts.

https://3and3quarters.net/2012/08/15...d20d519ce2f569 Here is a link to a block I found that I would like to make a quilt with my 2.5 square blocks. It is called Jacobs ladder.

Macybaby....what a lucky family you have. Quilts make a beautiful keepsake <3 QUOTE=Macybaby;8279269]Yesterday I re-homed about 20 quilts - feels real good to have my closet emptied out, and my pile of unquilted tops way down!

It was at the family reunion. I'm working on having a quilt for every family member and I've got a lot of them with more on the way. I'm up to about 60 quilts given and I think there are around 80 - 90 people. This is just my siblings, their spouses, nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. I already did DH's side, but at this point that was only one person!

I'm not keeping track of who has gotten what, and I know a few poeple have taken more than one. The biggest "offender" is a niece-in-law, she's got about five of them so far. She's from Cambodia, and just loves the quilts. Last year she took one and curled up with it on the couch and took a nap. Her husband says she is always curled up with one of the quilts. A person that develops such a strong bond to her quilts deserves to have several!

I was hesitant to give up my first embroidery block quilt, it is a double irish chain with embroidered flowers in the open areas. A younger sister kept looking at it and carrying it around, but she was hesitant to claim it for herself in case someone else wanted it. She's a very self-sacrificing individual, and I finally told her to go put it in her car. I'm very glad that quilt went to someone that felt strongly about it.[/QUOTE]

Cheesehead, your b'day card is packed and addressed. It will be taken to the post office tomorrow morning. (I have surgery at noon Monday and will be off the board for a while....) Happy Birthday!

What a clear and easy tutorial by this gal. I think I have a new quilt on my list! Thank you, Lstew for sharing your idea to use our little birthday treats!

Sure like the idea of "re-homing" quilts. I give any many and am working on my family too. Disocered that my nieces and nephews were getting quilts but not my own children. Bad mom, bad mom! So I am off on the adventure of getting two done by Christmas, son and one daughter. Other daughter....quilts some herself, so I am in a quandary as to what to make for her.

Love the idea of blessing your family with your handiwork. You are ambitious! 60 done with 20 more to go, Yikes.
