jaba - would I do anything less than beautiful - LOL
Just don't look super close at the binding. I really enjoy the hand stitching part - it's the joining ends that gives me fits.
The girls at the local quilt shop were impressed with my color selection - said that they're stunning and it will be a sharp project when it's finished. Want to see a sliver of color - tonight is ladies stag so the girls and I are dining out - I can get to it after I get home tonight.

Hey hey hey! its me! le brat! my computer is dead then my hubbies died. it was one marvelous computer funeral this weekend. I am so sorry dustysmomma about the non sending of your name and the miss spelling when I finally got it done. I am a bit tired with all the partying Jaba and I have been doing. Those men with burritos and quilts are so tired they left Nancia! We have been playing with fabric (me) sewing (Jan) and eating everything and then wine tasting and think going to lunch tomorrow and maybe the casino to lose some money! Her husband has been so sweet and humored us the whole way and saved us from being total tourist bugger rears in town .. there are 22 wineries that have little tasting rooms on the main street of Murphys. He has strong arms to hold us up and hei s a grand bbq king. My husband is a grand charcoal burnt food on the grill king and freely admits it so its a treat for me to have some good old fashioned bbq! She has taught me a couple really good tricks that I am so happy to have learned. Finishing my partners goodies tomorrow a.m. and will be ready to send! yahoooo!

"tourist bugger rears" That's the first time I've heard that one! LMAO! Sounds like you're having a great time! Computer funerals are no fun. My old one is on its last leg and has been relegated to my sewing room for Pandora & emergency craft printing of already saved files on the shared network drive only. I can't unplug the power cord or it turns off, it capitalizes when it wants to (usually inappropriately) and the touchpad's mouse button clicks whenever it fees like it so that your words get so jumbled up you never make sense & have to rewrite it 10 times.

Did some sewing last night on this swap. I have 2 projects going & I keep going back & forth between them, lol.

I wish you oodles of luck dustysmomma in finishing all those projects. my list is a tad longer... big mouth sign up for it all!!! lol. I will be relieved to finish a couple things and then can only count the other ten that need doing this week. four of which I will accomplish I figure set my goals high then I will push harder and do what I can. Trying to come up with a 'wacky/crazy CHICKEN pattern for my dq this month. I didn't want to do a crazy quit block so Annaquilts has agreed to do crazy chickens with me. now to figure out what is a crazy or wacky chicken look like. This is the pickle I get myself into all the time.

and in the midst of all this hilarity, i had a box arrive! i was hoping it was one or two of my burrito boys, but . no. it is a singer featherweight of 1948. actually older than me! this is the one i found on shopgoodwill.com. it has arrived in the same perfect condition it was sent. well packaged in a large pellet filled cardboard box, and then the carrying case, and the little darling plus goodies. the cord appears to be the original and has some cracks in the rubber so i will replace that. i turned it on using my aunt's fw cord. it stitches quietly== or will once i put bobbin thread in. i am happy that i ordered a new belt and some feet. so far i don't appear to need to replace anything but the cord. i will have the interior wires checked, too. it looks shiny, with just a few normal pin scratches--no biggies. i am delighted!! yes, it is always a bit of a gamble, but goodwill.com wants our return business just as any other retailer does. so this is the end of my birthday gifts. my sister drove up from d.c. and took us to dinner at cafe' bombay-- the most delicious food ever! dh presented a gold ruby and diamond heart pendent for all 4 occasions, so i am well set for another year! now i REALLY have to figure out my embroidery machine!!! it hangs over me like doom! i feel very grateful for all the love and goodness in my life!

Happy belated birthday wishes nancia - sounds like you got yourself the perfect gift and had a wonderful time with your hubby and sister. I looked at some of those featherweights on goodwill.com. I have a couple of friends that use them and they just love it - maybe some day - who knows when I might decide to get one.

On another note - here is the teaser for my partner - hope the colors are what they had in mind.

ohh like your teaser Dabbler! I love the three on the left.. (picky Brat!). I have the binding done on 2/3 of my projects for my partner. I had sewn binding on a runner the night before and used a needle with a sharp top? probably one of those easy threads only I didn't use it like an easy thread (bad eyes) and it made my finger.. sore? oh my so I had to stop yesterday but will try to whip that out today so I can mail by tomorrow. its a theory not always possible but a theory

Jaba (Jan) and I have had such a good time. At least I think we did. For me it was the quality time with someone you truly care about.. I spend a ton of time alone. I love it, like it and sometimes crave .. more. I got that. We had some quiet times and we also had some family times. That was it.. family times. I have three sisters, two I am not very close with and another I adore but gets on my nerves super easy. This was. Laughter, working together, going out and having fun.. staying home and doing our own things but it was so easy and normal. God I loved that. I will be sad to see her go home but its not the last and not for long. We will hook up again. She is the sister of my heart and I love her dearly Will have to spank her hubbys cute little rear one more time before he goes home he is a kick in the pants. And she will let me (laughing even harder).

does anyone else suspect the vote was bought, er , i mean, ......yeah, bought sounds about right! it looks like lots of fun! beware-- making brat a santa suit would involve a lot of padding!!! a whole lot!! whereas, making me a bunny would require a whole lot less! especially a playboy bunny. oops, i would be the only playboy bubby they insisted wear a burka! lol , in the u.s. of a.! or priest's robes-- to the floor, baby! i will work on that for this summer..rotflmao-- that's my wait loss plan....."roll, roll, roll. in the hay.."... (does anyone know the movie that quote is from? there's a fat quarter in it if you get it right--first one only.)
