Thank you to grammyj, my Secret Santa – you really outdid yourself! My main gift is a really nifty Moda portable sewing caddy that stands up on its own. The back side has a big open pocket for holding a project or pattern. The front side has a pin cushion, elastic bands to hold scissors and such, a zippered pocket and open pockets. I had never seen this before and will use it forever!

Sewing gifts were batik FQs and 30s print wide strips, a beautiful homemade hot pad (love it!), perle cotton embroidery thread, a small cutting ruler (so smart!), a magnetic needle nest, beautiful pins with leaf-style heads (I’ve been wanting these for a long time), a handy light that velcroes to your finger to light close-up work (will sure come in handy for threading my needles), two patterns, beads, ribbons, and buttons galore, a vintage needle packet, a lovely stiletto and scissor fob set (also something that’s been on my wish list for a long time), and vintage buttons on cards.

Fun extras are a soup cookbook (timely as I’ve been wanting to expand my soup options this winter), coffee, candies, butter cookies, and nail polish and file. I love everything, but have to give special mention to the cookies. Growing up, my dad would always bring home a big tin of these Danish butter cookies. I’ve been so tempted by them this year, but knew I didn’t need a big tin of them. This small tin is the perfect size – and they taste even better than I remember!

Thanks again, Janice – you’ve made my Christmas extra special this year!

My SS was CarolinePaj, and boy, did she send a great package! First off, she sent a hand-made ornament, currently the only ornament on my tree. She also sent me some wonderful fat quarters, perfect for my someday-landscape quilt, a homemade thread catcher/basket, a wallet and photo album, some very unique-to-me ribbons, variegated thread (my favourite), a really neat wall-hanging and pillow kit, a sachet, hand cream, socks, super-cute wooden butterfly buttons, a Trip Around the World pattern and ruler, and finally, a book for a hand-applique quilt "Pocketful of Posies". A similar quilt won at our guild quilt show this year and I look forward to working on this. Thanks Caroline!!

    Default Secret Santa

ohhhhhhh my.............. my secret santa was checkin' her list a couple times.
Thank-you so much Plumtree - Tammy. I never dreamed that I would receive the box I did. I knew it was heavy, but never dream she would squeeze all that she did. And she sent a little of Texas to North Dakota.

I almost forgot to open my package today. I put it away, when I brought it home, and I was working on homework on my computer, and decided I would check on a message from another swap I am in. Then I was in a hurry to open........ Thought I might have missed it, but it looks like we are still waiting on a few. Keep watching for photo's from my SS swapper.

Well, I will check-in throughout the day.......... need to get back to homework and eat some of my chocolate.

Thanks so much Plumtree...... and to all, have a very MERRY CHRISTMAS

Really great packages coming in. My SS was Crafty Grammie. She sent lots of snacks, a mini cutting board and ironing pad, a stuffed bear, patterns, book, a handmade block with bluebells, fabric, and several "doodads". Thank you, Barbara.

I would like to thank Rumbols for all the wonderful things that she sent me. Some of my presents were even wrapped in paper with pictures of Chickadees (which are my favorite birds). I don't know how she managed to know exactly the perfect things to send me, but it's as though she knows me personally. I love everything I received from her. Even my Christmas card is perfect!

She made me the prettiest pink bag with appliqued hearts, and inside was a pouch with tiny scissors. She also made a pouch with an appliqued flower to hold needles. And she made two mug rugs that are appliqued and so adorable. Her stitching is exquisite. It looks as though some of it is hand sewn. Her work is just beautiful. I don't think the photo does it justice.

She sent me red polka dots and pink paisley fat quarters, a Fons & Porter Half and Quarter triangle Ruler, a fabric adhesive glue stick, a water soluble marking pen, a pack of iron cleaning sheets, a machine cleaning brush, embroidery thread with embroidery needles, a needle threader, stretch needles, twin needles, top-stitch needles, and 2 Fons & Porter used needle cases. I also got a magnetic wrist pin cushion--which I have wanted forever! And she sent me Chamomile tea, Chessmen cookies, and Werther's caramels--all my favorites. I absolutely love everything! Thank you so much!
