Today (and last night)...I'm going thru my scraps of batting and piecing them together to use. I've got many pieces of batting that I save (usually 24" wide X at least 48" long). They are taking up much room in my closet. So, I've been piecing them (using the iron-on batting tape) and using them up. I was able to use some to finish up one quilt 59" X 59" and am piecing some more today for another quilt top 48" X 60". I will not buy any more batting until I use this up. I keep it rolled on a long cardboard tupe in one of those pop-up hampers. Once that's empty, I'll purchase another batting roll. But, I'm committed to using up all of it before I purchase more.

That’s great Nora, those pieces of leftover batting pile up quickly and take up a lot of space. When I make smaller projects such as bowl cozies, placemats and runners I always use scrap pieces of batting that I’ve joined together.

Today I finally decided where I would hang my rulers! After a month long test drive of using the laundry room as my ironing and cutting station, I’ve decided I like it. Used Command strips to hang them on the inside of a deep closet door. Now I can actually find the ruler I’m looking for within seconds!

Great space for squaring up blocks. For larger cutting jobs, like cutting borders I use the dining table.

Love all the storage space in this upper cabinet.

It’s nice to have the ironing board by the sink. I think I will make a Big Board to go on top of my ironing board, the flat surface I am using is too small. Has anyone tried making one, a Big Board?
Oh yes, added bonus - this floor is heated! So toasty on bare feet.

Very nice and neat, OhC! I use the hooks as well, but on my cabinet fronts and sides. I have several small ones that always seemed to get lost; now I can find them as long as I hang them back up! Another thing I do is group items on a binder clip...say a couple of completed blocks, then hang them on one of the hooks as a temporary landing spot. It keeps them together and don't get lost on the horizontal surface I'm working on.

    OhCanada; nice.
Finally got a picture of my rearranged studio with the office desk and new painting station. To the back of the photo is an alcove with the Horn/Bernina 830 and new shelves. In the forground is the office desk with computer and painting area with shelves. In the center is another Horn with my workhorse sewing machine. On the other sides of the room are design wall, closet storant & the cutting and sewing stations. Need new home for templates and space for drying paintings. The shelves really helped to get to seeing possibilities.

I plan to add a mirror above the Bernina. And picture racks so I can dry my oil paintings and enjoy them.

The back to back arrangement of my office desk and Horn cabinet has come in handy for putting the binding on a king size quilt... what a lot of quilts to move around.

I love all that clear space, petthefabric.

I am officially done with those triangles...now when I want to make a mini I know where to reach for the size I want....win win here. Ironic is I'm starting on some mini's, but have gone to the 1" strips instead.

OhCanada and Petthefabric: Nice sewing areas!

Oksewglad: Congratulations on finishing your triangle sorting.

    I cut some more 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 rectangles today from scraps...and some 1 1/2 strips for a mini quilt I'm considering. Haven't decided yet but I'm collecting anyway.

Someone somewhere here posted about a 100 day challenge to help develop/change habits. I thought instead of that, maybe it would be a good idea to find one thing to go in the donation box every day for 100 days. Anyone want to join me?
