Default My first attempt to creating a Colorwash Quilt

My first attempt...I've got lots to learn about color placement, but I am happy with this small quilt. It is 21" x 29" and has 266 pieces and only 4-5 pieces are duplicated, if that. I've been studying Wanda S. Hanson's colorwash quilts. They are beautiful!
http://exuberantcolor.blogspot.com/p...sh-quilts.html

The pieces are laid out on a 2" grid drawn on lightweight fusible interfacing (which I drew myself). After pressing all the pieces down, I sewed all the seams in one direction, clipped the interfacing and pressed the seams open, then sewed the other direction and pressed those seams open, too.

Thanks for looking! Has anybody else tried this technique? Post a pic!

Forgive my English in the title. Should read "first attempt to create (not creating) a colorwash quilt."

I think it is beautiful! Especially for your first attempt at this technique!

I'm laughing at myself for getting upset for you after reading this post. I thought to myself - how rude of someone to correct your English and not say a word about how beautiful you quilt turned out for you. I went back to the first post to take another look at your quilt and that is when I noticed you also wrote the second post and corrected yourself. I had noticed the error, but would never have mentioned it. Anyway, You succeeded in creating a very beautiful quilt.

Don't worry about bad grammar when you can produce such a lovely quilt and a thread in a second language. My only way of a second language is by using translate.
Did you really colour wash each piece separately whoooo.

I think it's fascinating and you've made me want to learn more about color washing and try myself! Thank you for posting.
