LOL, Happylab.
Martina, it seems to me that since your retreats are out of town, you should also get the travel exemption in addition to the retreat exemption, and the supporting the local economy would be an additional exemption
Leta- sounds like a plan! And thanks for posting those links, looks like a fun competition.
Elly-- watch out, you'll get addicted to using your fabric cutter-- it's just so much fun watching a pile of fabric get reduced to stacks of recognizeable shapes-- sort of like cutting the grass ( if you've got a small flat yard and a self propelled mower)-- instant gratification

Well, it's my birthday month, but I really don't need or want any fabric. HOWEVER ... ... I'll be traveling to Durham, NC in the beginning of June for a medical evaluation and will have almost two days with nothing to do. So ... any good shops in Durham?

One of my colleagues was the victim of a home invasion robbery over the weekend. He is in the hospital in pretty bad shape. I am beyond words on such an evil act, particularly as he is the kindest and gentlest souls on the planet. I feel compelled to make him a quilt but have no music fabric (he plays piano and the church organ). I think I need an exemption. This one just plain hurts and needs a quilty bandaid.

Martina--- I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. I hope he mends quickly. It seems like home invasions are increasing, very scary.
A musical themed quilt would be a very nice gift. I think you should get whatever you need.
Hugs,
Rob

Martina, I'm sorry to hear about what happened to your friend. Having something like this happen hurts in ways that are indescribable. A new quilt will definitely be a comfort!! Go get whatever you need... music is my other passion after quilting.

I found some nice music fabric at Beverly's yesterday. I am using one of Jenny Doan's charm pack tutorials. Should go quick.

Glad you found some fabric so quick Martina.
Rob - good analogy for a accuquilt. I have been busy with my scraps. Great way to get them ready to use.
