Hi,Join the featherweight group on yahoo. They have many knowledgeable people who can answer your questions and also tell you where the best buy on things for the featherweight are. I know you can replace a case for less than that.

You might go online and go to Sew-Classic (in Brunswick, OH) and see if Jenny can help you out (use the contact area). She has been a great help to me on the purchase of products needed for the vintage Singers (my grandmothers, my aunts, and now my own little featherweight). Sorry about the purchase being in such sad state.

Since its an antique, look for others comparable to your on Ebay and other antigue sites and price accordingly. I've seen them on ebay for over $600. Since they damaged both the case and the machine, I'd go for the highest estimate. You can usually get an antigue dealer to give you a price for one of those at no charge.

the quote for the box you rec'd is unfortunetly the right price but ask billy (lostn51) about the damage repair. He may be able to help. Otherwise, enjoy your fw, i have an white one too.
I also have a repairman here but he doesn't like the white ones to work on for 1 reason or the other....
