[Perfect for a boat ride... Anyone else in for banana bread, coffee and a night time boat ride? Ahhhhhh....
I'm on my way! It may be a stormy night here in KS, so I'd love to escape for a few hours, lol. I'm bringing my own creamer.

I finally got in the bobbin case and needles for my two tone green 319W...it is so cool. It does all the stitches. The prior owner had tried to use a 15x1 needle and had turned the needle bar around backwards and such, but with a little adjustment, it is right on track. Happy dance here in LA. Also, my mom just had to get me another machine, a tan Singer 177C (1970-74, Brazil) in a walnut cabinet. Very utilitarian, no light, but basic straight stitch and zigzag. Sews a great stitch. It threads different, but that's okay. Just something different. Pics later.

Speaking of boat rides I have to make reservations for the Wheeler State park for the first week in April. My son and I are going camping and fishing. He likes banana bread to. Glenn

I found replacements on Ebay and Bonanza.
I used a lot of liquid wrench in all of the oil points to get it loosened up and then oiled it,rewired the machine and took apart the motor and cleaned it up. Rewiring it and cleaning the motor was a first for me but with all the info on the internet I figured that I could do it. I'm waiting for the belt to come in the mail and then will muster up the courage to plug it in. lol
I'll make sure that I plug it into a GFCI outlet so if something is wrong it will trip it.

You did a fabulous job on the cleanup. The desk looks fabulous, too. Hope all goes well when you plug it in and run it... You have a fine machine there.

I came home without the little New Home Ruby. She just didn't say 'take me home'. I have no idea which Singer my grandmother's last treadle was, but I think that's what I'm looking for. Anyone want a cute little machine in Middleville, MI - SE of Grand Rapids? I'm glad my 300 mile trip was for a family wedding, not just to see the machine.

I'm going to put my garage saling granddaughters on it this Summer.

BTW, she did treadle very quietly.

How many people can you put on that boat? I'd be up for a moonlight ride, sweet cream butter on the nanna bread, and I guess I'll bring my own hot tea. Let's see, if I leave here now, I'll get there by mornin'. My tea will be gone, you'll have nothing but crumbs, and the moon will be settin'. Can we get rain checks here?

Melinda,
what type of needle does the 319 take, I need to find some, too and can't remember the type. Brain cramp!

You are wrong for this! I am a lover of water and fishing and eating, it doesn't matter where the water is, not too particular what the food is, etc.

Heck, girl! If you can come down here to South Florida and find the kinda 'bargains' on machines for me here... that you find in your travels up north... I'll GIVE you a huge slice of warm, fresh banana bread with real, dairy made, non-processed butter - a thermos of hot coffee - and take you and your boy(s) on the boat for DAYS! lol!!!! Wanna wake board? Um... fishing is good too, need license. Wahoo, snook, tuna, snapper, tilapia... the local 5 star marina we love, has the BEST Grouper Dogs on the planet. Fresh off the boats!

I would do my best for you! How is the Lobster fishing in your area? The one time I did this, I was in the Keys. Sooooo loved it, even the music was to die for!!! It was at least 10 years or so since I was last there. Hope to be there around August or so this year. I really liked riding the mini-bikes on Key West. Made me feel young then, so imagine how it will feel in August this year!

I have a straight leg Singer too. I found it to be a bit noisy until I moved it against a wall and now the National Two Spools sits in it. Just moving it helped with some of the noise.

OK, I'll bite. What is a straight leg Singer Iron?

Here is a picture of my Singer straight-leg treadle. I don't know how to rotate the picture, sorry.

206x13 is the size. I got them from online at a store called http://shop.sew-classic.com/ They were prompt in delivery, and not overly priced.
