I saw one made into a jig saw

If the opposite is true - don't you just love how a sewing machine runs... I tried to post an ad tongue in cheek for a sewing machine and CL flagged me. I suppose I have had machines sounded about what this one must sound like though.

Dumptruck?? :?:

did you read that ad??? good grief.

Okay gang I am actually feeling pretty decent this morning believe it or not! And I have been sitting here thinking about how fast this Fall/Holiday season is coming up on us. I think this year I am going to do something for the shop that might be fun and help get us into the Christmas spirit. How about a machine giveaway?

Hopefully I will be back in the swing of things in the next few weeks and then I can get the machines I have here back to the rightful owners and free up some time to build a machine just for the VSMS. Of course it will be a one off custom (probably a 66 with handcrank) but fix it to where we have a trivia contest or something like that and offer it up as the grand prize and have some other goodies for the runner ups. I just need to come up with how to do it, keep everything fair and square and it will give everyone who wants to play a chance at getting the machine and other goodies. So I will have to do some serious pondering but it will happen.

Ah, Billy - that sounds like super fun BUT you make sure you feel well enough to do this before you really get caught up in it. Great idea, however ....................

I haven't seen one, but I have heard of people doing that. The fly tier is interesting.

Ok, my mother was gracious enough to go scouting for me (or enabling as she so nicely put it). :) No screwdriver needed, the case has a key. It's not in pristine condition and looks decently used from the pictures. Model 99, knee bar, AA441634, so 15,000 allotted May 19, 1925. Opinions? I'll probably go just at least to see what it and another treadle (127?) go for. It's not like I need it, but I like the fact that it has a knee bar.

Oh, man, grayhare that is just what I want. I am so jealous.

I love this. I'll have to show this to DH. He ties his own flys.

I have not seen the machine, but the owner tells me it is like this listing on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/Antique-WHEE...item2eb6de5986
He is asking 100, for it; way too expensive for me. Any thoughts or comments on this and these machines.

You know I think I agree with him on this one.
