Here is another pretty machine. Can anyone tell us what the decals are on this machine. What ever they are they are pretty.

Billy is this a re-done machine? It is beautiful, but is it for real or a re-do?

Went to a new thrift store today and found several old machines. They were all priced at $25, and most were in cabinets. They are all electric machines. There were 3 Singers...99K EL598167 8-1-56 50,000; 15 AH156927 7-10-47 35,000; and 128 AK865533 4-3-52 15000. I think the 15 was not in a cabinet and was missing the slide plate...looked pretty rough, but my question to those in the know is how do I know which 15 it is? Is there another number on there I should look for?

There were also 2 other machines, 1 said Precision MFG Sewing Machine, made in Japan. On the bed it said Deluxe. It was a pretty teal color and in good shape. I am guessing it is a 15 clone??? The other said Domestic Premier...I can't remember where the words were on the machine! (in other words was Domestic on the top or the bed). This also looked like it might be a 15 clone. Of course I am no expert, just guessing from the bit I have picked up here.

Of course I had no camera so couldn't get pics. I would really like to get the 99K simply because my 128K hand crank would fit in the cabinet because they are both 3/4 machines. I also like the teal one.

Sorry to ramble on, any comments appreciated.

Okay, since the World's Rotary cleaning is all done I thought I would start another in the kerosene spa treatment that Billy touts.

Decided I couldn't hurt this one too much as it is a really rusty but moves okay except for the pressure foot. It is Singer serial #G0710265 that I think from the singer site is a Model 27, 50,000 allocated Sept. 15, 1910 from Elizabeth NJ. Based on the first character after the G is a zero and just ignored it in the serial number list.

I can't wait to see the finished product. I just love the Sphynx machines. I think they are so cool.

I was just thinking and that usually causes problems, but this time I wondered something. So whoever knows thanks for satisfying my curiosity. What year did Singer change from the Egyptin style scroll plate to the Srtaight Striated plate on the Featherweights. Thanks!

Lisa you have to have the 0 to find the serial and model. The G series was the biggest run there was in Singer history so they had to start over and they did that by starting with a slew of "0's"

Your machine is really 127 with 35,000 allotted on March 19 1924.

I think they started the striated plate sometime after WWII. I am not positive about this but I read it somewhere. I hope someone can say if this is correct or not.

Thank you. After a lot of e-mails back and forth, I will be going to see it this morning. It is about an hour away from here and there is a nice thrift shop on the way. Hmmmm, if we go down one way, we can stop at the thrift shop, and if we come back the long way, we can hit a few antique shops, and maybe a Goodwill or 2. Think we can make a day of it.
