My friend gave me a portable handcrank that someone gave her 20 years ago in England. She has just had it in storage. I was telling her about my treadle and she said she had an old machine she thought I would like, so she gave it to me! It is a SERATA serial #640765. I have been searching and haven't found anything yet. It has a beautiful wooden case with inlays. Not sure where to find info to date it or get parts. {she went to show me the extras inside the sliding wooden drawer and found that the bottom was missing. she has no idea which move it may have been lost in} I will download my pictures later tonight and post them soon.

By using a handheld vac, if I accidently suck up something important , there is only a small screen to clean to find it instead of going through a whole vacuum cleaner bag!

But this will happen in a couple of weeks and I will post here after listing them in the proper area.

Donna Mare, That's not the machine I was considering. The one I was bidding on is a tan 501. It looks like a Rocketeer.
The one you have pictures one has the look of one whose orignal owner tied fabric around the top to use as a pin cushion. Looks like water damage on the base, too. |
Yes I will, when I have a chance to upload pics. I have several favorites, but on the lookout for a treadle with good decals. My g-grandmother's machine was pretty ugly when I got it, but I treasure it. I have some 15 clones that are cute-got 2 pink ones for Christmas, an Atlas and a Monarch. I actually like the stories behind mine as much as the machines. My family is quite enabling with this addiction, which is a double edged sword for sure. My younger daughter got me a glass singer oil bottle for Christmas, and is the source of my Davis Model D. Thanks for asking about the machines.
