Hate it when they start to finagle with the parts to make more $$$$$. Regardless- Here in NY they go for $100 - 200 w/ case or cabinet and attachments. Try offering $85 and see what happens. Good luck!

I would take it either with our without the case. I use my 301 quite a bit -- next month I am taking it to guild for the jelly roll race. Do you think it has a chance against those Berninas?

How odd. I thought that ad looked familiar. The same listing shows up on the Seattle CL. The wording is different, but the pics and phone number are the same: http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/hsh/3869672122.html Maybe he commutes back and forth?

The ad I looked at said $150. at 60 for the machine and 50 for the case when I went to school that was only $110. I would jump on that one so fast like a cat on hot bricks. Looks like it wasn't used much. that is a bargain, I spent 86 plus for the one I got and then pd 50 to have it serviced, so I could do my own the next time.

Is Coos Bay too far away for you? I've been intrigued by this machine for some time. I think it's been listed for a couple of months. There's no model number in the ad, but I'm pretty sure it's a 301A. It's too far for me to go fetch it, but thought you might be interested. Lots of accessories and I think it's a really handsome cabinet. http://oregoncoast.craigslist.org/for/3791383307.html

How about Roseburg? Here are a couple of great deals! Too bad it's so far away.

You couldn't possibly go wrong with either of these, if you're willing to drive a bit. I talked to the seller on the first ad and she says she'll get some pictures up on the listing. I texted the owner of the second and told him I am posting it up here, so not to scrap it.

I paid $250. for my Tan 301 and $300 for my black one. I love the 301s, and thought I needed a backup. Both machines were newly serviced. If I needed another one, would jump on that $60 price,

That second one is a Singer 404 - not scrap metal - somebody buy it - those are good little machines - not all that heavy and easy to use.
