Jenny doesn't carry them any more - from her parts page:

DISCONTINUED by Sew-Classic - we will no longer be offering this part for purchase. New, replacement bobbin case for Singer Featherweight 221, 221K, 222 and Singer 301 / 301A

Have you considered a Singer 301? The are pretty portable at 16 lbs, have a built in handle, annd sew beautifully just like a featherweight. If you keep checking Craigslist, you will find one very reasonably. It seems that I find more in cabinets than in cases but always for $100 or less.i spent WAY too much on my first one on EBay but it was still much less than any featherweight .

Sorry, I didn't know that. They must be no good if she discontinued them, or she can't get them any more. I know she stopped recommending her metal class 15 bobbins for many vintage Singers because of fitment issues.
Another place to try is Glenn Williams- http://pages.suddenlink.net/joyof301s/glenn.htm
He often has original parts.

Try 221parts.com as well. I think I got mine from eBay.

I've had better luck with Goodwill online - lower prices and most just need cleaning and oiling.

I got my FW from my mother, who got it from HER mother, who bought it new in the early '30s (on a payment plan!). the decals are worn, and the finish dulled it spots, because it is a well used and functional machine.I love it for its history, and the memories it evokes for me. it was my only machine for years as I moved around a lot; now, I mostly sew on my Elna Supermatic and my Fleetwood Deluxe - I won't ever part with my FW, but I can't imagine that it is worth even $50 to someone else! (even though it still sews like a dream - 80 years of regular maintainance pays off!)

It always amazes me what people are willing to pay for featherweights.

I have purchased 2 Featherweights...both were purchased for $225 each, but from different sources. These machines went to my sister and her daughter, both of which are quilters. My DH had purchased a FW from a friend for $185; I just had her serviced and when I picked her up today, I noticed a FW on display...price tag $495...and as many have said here...that's too much. I also have a 99K that I need to have serviced...paid $40 for that one. Now I just wish I had a room where I could set all my machines up and close the door when I'm not working in there!
