Actually, there are on-line shops that sell vintage patterns. We went looking for a wedding gown pattern, and were floored at the prices. I ended up drawing out what my DD wanted, and creating a pattern to copy one of the vintage ones.

Yes - mine was $25. He has thread and needles, but does have any of the special cams or the manual?

Too bad there are not some better closeup pics. I am going to hazard a guess and say that it is an industrial sewing machine mounted on an industrial table and stand. Likely gold plated. Bad pics so as not to attract home invasion robbers coming after the sewing machine. LOL.

Miriam, that's what I thought too. But if you look closely, there's a treadle pedal. I did have to look closely several times before I saw the pedal.

It is not a treadle though - those industrial machines some times have pedals like that - but that is just what makes it go fast or slow - it would have a clutch whether a motor or a bike powered.

Wow, that's interesting. SO maybe it is bike powered. The picture is from far away and not real clear so who can tell.
