It is going to take lots of cleaning, but not as much as Helen required. I really don't want to spend more than $40 on it.
More reports of the storms down here... death toll is now up to 248 confirmed dead. The worst was in the Tuscaloosa, AL area, where one of the tornadoes was on the ground for TWO HOURS, which is unheard of! Whole towns were wiped off the map. 600 people were treated in hospitals there and half the day's death toll came from that area. But 6 states were involved, in all.

Kas, As of 6ish last evening, Glen was okay, but had lost some trees. My son working in that area said the tornadoes weren't over when he (my son) was going out to start helping with the clean up. He called me at 6:30.
Wow Billy! I am sure happy to hear you and your family are well and that the damage is minimal in comparison to others! So happy too, that all your machines are ok :)

Hello to everyone! I just won a 1948 Singer FW 221. I am starting from the ground floor concerning educating myself about this wonderful machine. Can I use needles that I already own? e.g. Schmetz.... TIA

Sews a pretty stitch, but it keeps breaking thread after about 8-10- inches. I'm pretty sure it's a simple threading error. I'll keep hunting for pics.
