Vintage Sewing Machine Shop.....Come on in and sit a spell
Kenmore -
I love the look of that machine. You can see the 301 trending toward the "Rocketeer" body style. I love the decals also. It looks to be in great shape. How does she sew?

Nice 306K. The black looks good on it.

Has the picture of the treadle helped any of you identify it as a clone?
My grandson made a little table topper for his mom on it. It runs so quiet and he does a better, faster job of treadling then I can! Its in such great condition I can't believe it is older then a clone would be.

Hey, Wesing. You mean I'm supposed to sew with it? Actually very well, so far. The motor is only .53 so it's not a powerful machine but it went through 6 layers of Levi's denim with no problem at all. Ran over seams easily. Nice looking stitches. There is one problem, though: the needle position lever seems stuck in the center position. Tri-Flow time. Some things I really like: the lamp is bright, the length lever is very sensitive so I can get exactly the size I want, the presser foot lever raises the foot fairly far (though it's no Kenmore), and the zig-zag is very balanced top to bottom with the bobbin thread matching the top w/out coming through the fabric at the hook points. The 206/306/319 series is reputedly a little noisier and this one is no exception but I don't find it bad at all.
Like you, I really like the styling of these machines and I agree with you that the gentle slope forward presages the Rocketeer and the 328.

Hey, Rodney. I prefer the tan/brown two-tone for the 306 but basic black is always good. The pic I posted isn't very good. Perhaps I'll try to get a better shot and post it soon.
I have been working on a Necchi Mira BU for the past several days and it has a Wonder Wheel attachment for it that has been giving me fits. Parts are hard to find for it and I did my research on how to replace the tire on it. It is large. 2" across with a 1" ID hole inside. I tried the fix that the Necchi Yahoo group suggested and had very disappointing results. I did it how I thought, and had excellent results. This is how it looks now.

Let's point the spotlight at my ignorance once again shall we?
I wonder what's a wonder wheel?

The mechanism showing the drive wheel. Cams are two sided.

I hope this helps.

Now THAT is cool. I love the gizmosity of it. It was worth the effort to get it working again.
Thanks for the pic and the explanation.
