Sorry about the confusion, it was late last night when I posted that last one. Here are a couple that look like early long arms to me.

Went thru E-bay and paid with Paypal. As of moments ago, still no response, no refunds in account. I can't figure out how to find other items he may be selling. I want to see if he has changed anything. It is as if he has "disappeared".
I don't want to get in trouble with admin. by posting his info. but I sure don't want others having this problem.
Yes Billy, I intend to 'nail him to the wall' and a few other places if I could. :?

Too funny, I was bidding on that FW 222K and wondering if it was indeed a longer arm than normal. Got too high for my pockets. Oh well, there will be another one.[/quote]

I could be wrong but in your case I would complain to Paypal. They are the ones that say you are protected against this type of fraud when you use their services. I would get their phone # and verbally remind them of what they guarantee. This has nothing to do with what funds are in the seller's account. You are now dealing with PAYPALand their supposed guarantee.

Ugh, bad sewing day!!! The tension is messed up on my Brother (newer electric) and no matter what I try I can not get it right. So, I head to the treadle...it pushes the top fabric so much that it ends up off by 1/4" or more at the end of the seam, and the same w/the hand crank! I am working on a dress and am now so frustrated I have stopped sewing for the day.

Those of you that use your treadles often, how do you keep the top fabric from getting pushed so much? I am not talking about multiple layers, just two. I have tried adjusting the presser foot pressure and see no change, except if it is too loose the fabric does not move at all! And pinning, but the fabric pushes to the pin then will fold over if I don't remove the pin. (hope that made sense)

I guess some days are just not meant for sewing. And, now my Brother is going to have to get serviced or something to get the tension corrected...that is frustrating enough since it should be a simple fix!!!

I feel better having vented a bit :).

Thanks,
Jenna

Jenna, sorry you are having problems with the fabric feed. Has this happened before on the machines? Did you try a different fabric? (I wondered if it was just the fabric you were using...)

Everyone here by now knows that I love old machines especially treadles and somehow you guys find me the go to guy for answers to you questions.

Every day I hop on to see what is going on and I have tons of PM's in my folder waiting on me to help out with your vintage machines. I am NOT complaining a drop, believe me I really appreciate the fact that you respect me enough to want to ask your questions and I REALLY enjoy helping you all out. Plus I get to see some really neat machines that you guys own!!!! ;)

Now I am far from an expert by no means, but you know I will do everything I can to find the answers for you or point you to someone who does know the answers. I have tons of records, manuals and parts list stored on my HD plus the stacks of factory documents sitting in front of me that could help a lot of us out with our machines.

SO...........I am going to do a PDA just for asking questions, posting photos and just a nice place to hang out, but if it really takes off who knows the administrator might set up a corner just for the vintage machines.

But I was thinking that if we had a special area to go to ask questions and post photos it might would help some else that may have the same question. To me there is nothing more special that to make a quilt on a vintage machine.

So if you like Vintage machines and you want to come to the shop and hang out with us then feel free to do so!!!

Billy

Ok you guys, look what I got today at a yard sale! It is a hand crank serial number 15,081840 -- 1898 Singer! It is soooo cute, and small! The machine goes down into the cabinet and it is set up to use as a treadle too!

Guess, what I paid?????? You won't believe that I got this machine -- cabinet is in great shape -- for $65!!!!!!!!! Geeze, I am so excited!

Major score, Nancy--THIS is the I was speaking of earlier when I commented that I had put so much money into it because I wanted it!! Yours is doubly cool because it holds a 3/4 sized machine!! I have a VS II in mine. Again, great score!!
