Love the flowers and the paint job on your machine.

Unique and different.
Ah, hence the name Purplefiend...................

Purplefiend,
I love that top photo with the head in the background and the purple machine- makes the machine looks like a toy- until one notices the cabinet.

I love my 201 treadle too!

But of course!! I have one--they're great for straight-line quilting and putting on binding.

Way cool!
Which one of the Davis Vertical Feed do you own, older or younger?
I like those misfit machines.

Wow! You found that machine in that color? Wow, Again! That is pretty awesome! Do you have any idea who did that paint job?

Miz Johnny, I would love to own one of every type of machine -- like you probably do! But, my DH is starting to get a little tired of our house looking like a sewing machine shop! It was bad enough when I kept my show saddles in the house -- they now live in the barn -- but, he says I can't buy any more machines unless they are portable!

Nancy do what I do and have one central treadle and just build a wall unit and fill it with machines to put in it. I have 19 that I use out there and they are really nice and neatly stored in the unit and it displays very well.

I'm going by the look of the decals, the area that holds the thread at the top (long with a silver plate), and the fact that the light is in the front. Most 201-2 have the light in the front.[/quote]

Well, I actually called about a couple vintage Singers today that were a little closer to home for me. They were both 15's. I still want to find a 201 one of these days -- but a little closer to home! Thank you Vintagemotif for thinking of me again. I love looking, I would get one of each if I could. I really am intriqued with that Vertical Feed machine, but I really can't get another treadle unless I get rid of one. I have 6 treadles in the house and one in the garage! I just can't bring myself to part with any of my current machines! And, this doesn't count my 2- 99k's, my 2 Featherweights, my Rocketeer, my White Rotary Crinkle, my 4 Pfaff's, my Janome, my Juki, and heaven forbid my long arm! I have seriously thought about getting rid of the long arm for more treadles -- love those treadles!

Billy that is a really good idea, but what about the machines that won't fit in your central unit - like my 1898 Model 28 in that polar cabinet (page 352)? And what about my 1887 Wheeler & Wilson in that really cool cabinet (posted on page 419)? It would break my heart to take those machines out of their original cabinets. I am just too sentimental! I don't feel right removing my treadles from their cabinets! Heaven forbid I am in trouble! I get too attached!

In my table I have different "plates" that fit in the common hole and that will allow the different machines to be used on the same treadle.
