actually those kids do a good job, just a risk when u dont know the kids or teacher. i have worked with our local career center on several projects. had some very good results,too

Wow a lot of really nice finds and machines here since the last time I was here. I have been swamped trying to get some of the repaints out of the way and a few machines boxed and ready to go home to their owners. But the weather has been really horrible the past few days. Today it rained all day and the temp dropped from 75 to 42 in a few hours. I didnt get a lot done out in the studio but I was busy none the less.

Tomorrow is going to b e one of those get a lot done days and so will the next 3 or 4 days. Then the rain will be here again.

But I am exhausted and wanting to hit the sack in a bit. I will look through the threads in the shop and I will answer all of the questions I can.

Kathie, I wouldn't hesitate to have my local high school work on something . They are always looking for projects for the students to do. My DD got part of her house 's dry walling done from them and now they want to know if they can do her siding. They did an excellent job and they only charge for the supplies they needed. Their teacher was very careful about supervising them.

Billy, we all know how busy you are, but when you get a few minutes could you look at page 740, Kathie's Dressmaker machine? Do you know anything about it?

Also, page 742, the Deluxe machine. It is a very pretty 15 clone, but is it authentic or a reproduction - it says made in Taiwan? I am just trying to educate myself if I find one.

Also, what is the machine on page 743? Another really pretty treadle, but who made it? I thought when I first looked at it, it said Whitehouse, but I know that is not what it says.

Thanks all for the kind words and encouragement. I think I am just going to get the veneer glued and put some nylon bushings in so I don't do any damage to the top. I will just continue to look for the correct parts for what I have and do it right when I can. I am just getting impatient and want to do some sewing on this machine. It will be interesting as the last time I sewed was back in middle school in 1992 on an electric machine. Will have to ask my Mother for help as she had a treadle back in the day.
I think I am also going to pick up an antique treadle grinder I found today at an antique store. Time to go green with some old machines. LOL

hi, if you see at the top of the picture there is a blue thing with a bar, that bar adjust the teeth for embro. silk and normal fabric, thru a bolt that can be seen in the first picture at the bottom right, well , the blue thing is braking in little pieces from the top, which is not visible in the picture and because of that the teeth dont go either up or down. ( did you understood what I was trying to say?) thank you, clara
