Vintage Sewing Machine Shop.....Come on in and sit a spell
For all BarKeeper's Friend users, I have some rust on some blackside plates. Have you ever used it on those type of attachments? I need to get rid of the rust but don't want to screw up the blackside finish. ~ Chris
OT If you haven't seen this thread, you need to read it. It's a hoot!

Try turning the knob in one direction fully and seeing if that does the trick. If not, then try turning it in the other direction fully to see if it works. And if not then don't worry about it. These are things that don't bother me as long as the machine sews and still I can wind the bobbin. Ok, seriously, I do know that this could irritate others. Maybe someone else can help you with a solution.
I'm also the person that like to use duck tape to hold down some of my sewing attachments. And use a C clamp to hold my cheap, plastic thread holder in place; great way to keep it from travel off the sewing cabinet while treadling.

when you turn that screw does the large wheel release from the wheel that holds the belt?
Jan, I love that pattern! So quick and so colorful....we have a Quilts for Kids local chapter in Bakersfield, now, and are always looking for quick and easy patterns to use. I think I'll show this one to them, if it's OK with you? Thanks for your charity work, and for showing this quilt!![/QUOTE]
Sure, you can show the picture. The secret to getting it to look so neat is to have the center of the 3 piece block wider than the outter two pieces and it needs to be in a light or white fabric. Just makes it "pop".

Yes. Turn the small knob toward you to release it from the wheel. Turn the knob away from you to lock it back into the wheel. I never paid much attention to that before. But anyhow, the answer is yes.

That is a great help, thank you. :-)
You're welcome! Once you getting it working for you, please post a picture of quilt that you make with it in the section called "quilts made with vintage machines". I love seeing everyone quilts made with their vintage ladies and gents.
