Vintage Sewing Machine Shop.....Come on in and sit a spell
Charlee and Candace I am jealous! I want a 'new' machine to play with too! You guys just gave all of the rest of us the bug AGAIN!
Charlee that 328 is really cute - love the shape - it reminds me of a Rocketeer!
Candace I really like the green Elna - that machine looks like a fun one to play with too!
Congratulations to both of you!
Nancy

Hey all....we had a little chat about rayon a few weeks ago and someone else posted this link as to why not to use rayon in quilting and for projects that get a lot of use. It's a good read and explains it better than I did:> http://www.superiorthreads.com/educa...-fiber-viscose
I am still catching up as been sewing instead of being on the computer. I will have to post some pictures. But here are a couple nice vintage pink sewing machines for those with that collection.

Cathy - you are right - Ray's class is fantastic - we've been talking about tools - I so needed to know where to get some better tools. I did give him your hug.

Dang it! It followed me home....how does that happen? Mizkaki, when you get moved and settled, and I figure out what I need, we need to talk about cams for this one! I have 9 or 10...just need the rest of the set....and it's missing the pin tucker too....

Thanks for this link. I'm pretty sure I've figured out what thread I'm going to use on my all machine quilt.
Have you ever used any of their snazzy titanium plated needles?
Joe
Thought you might want to see what my DH does with wood which is similar to what we do with fabric. Love that guy, for sure!

Hey Charlee, did your machine have a friend that you may have sent my way??? Look what followed me home today:> It's a 1956ish Supermatic, with a bunch of cams in great cosmetic condition. But, as usual with these the drive pulley is bad and I'll have to replace it. And learn how in the process!

Hey all, I just made a step by step of how I redressed my vintage Elna pulley (rather than buy a new one and replace). I hope it helps someone else as 90% of these machines that have sat longer than a month without use will get a flat spot on the pulley and sound like jackhammers. Here's the link. http://www.quiltingboard.com/vintage...ml#post5191210
