Vintage Sewing Machine Shop.....Come on in and sit a spell
Yes that is a low shank only button holer. You better read that manual so you can figure out how to make it work. My mom had one for years and nobody ever saw it until recently - I think she kept it hidden away so nobody would take it apart (blush) The button holers that fit a slant shank have 'SLANT' stamped on the top of the piece that goes on the post. The professional button holer will have 'STRAIGHT' on the short shank button holer. There are a few button holers to fit odd shafts but the part that attaches to the shaft is odd shaped too. IS THIS CLEAR????????

Glenn does have fantastic accommodations!!!
Yeah, then you can come to Indianapolis - we'll put you up in a tent in the yard - short walk to the bath and kitchen... Close to everything... You can have your pick of sewing machine tables or maybe if you get lucky a machine... Oh and if you like we can go junkin' and that's close too...

Do you mean a 301 or a 310?

Chris if you are trying to fix a 301 you loosen up or take off the throat plate. Then put things where you want them and then hang on and then screw them back down.
A 301 of course. It appears Murphy is running amuck in my life again.
