Well, many of the treadle machines, like the 1890 White I recently got are Whisper quiet....I believe a quiet machine is a happy machine.

we were talking the sizes of the working space on machines. I just purchased this Chandler darner with a 28 1/8" throat.
I don't have a clue why I needed it, but I did. So I couldn't talk myself out of buying it. I can't wait to get it home and start cleaning it up.
