Well, I have to say that I am excited about a machine I am going to be working on, a Singer 201. I am picking it up tomorrow night. It is in a nice cabinet too. I think it is a 1957.

I have this exact machine with the same cabinet! I have used it a lot. Bought it at an antique mall for $45 about 10 years ago. It is a great all purpose machine. I love my old machines!

That's a nice clean 201, looks like all it will need is some oil and grease.

    1889 Singer VS2 Fiddlebase

This is machine that I purchased in a lot of machines last January. It was refurbished sometime it it's history by Sun Sewing Machine Specialists of California. The finish is very rough and may be a good candidate for a creative refurbish and return it to a treadling machine. At least it is not missing the front slide plate and did come with a partial manual. Later when the light is better I will post some pics of the "creative" re-wiring.

    Serial no. is 8,686,897

The belt is downright anemic at best. She is going to end up with a leather belt eventually. I am going to use the base as a template to create a wood treadle top that will fit on the 1893 treadle irons I have. Another summer project, LOL

Steve, Hint taken! I do not have a F&R and sure would appreciate owning one (I really like German, HC, TS machines). However, I have 18 machines at last count. Fourteen are on permanent tables or in cabinets. Not that that matters for a HC. But, I don't think I can convince hubby that another one should come in the house. I am sure whoever gets it will be happy!

    Judy,
Ya should not let hubby ever know how many machines you have. Easier to sneak in another one that way.

Ha - just get DH trained - mine carries them in out of the car!
NEVER let a sewing machine know you are in a hurry.

Steve, that is one beautiful machine. When I find machines that old, they are usually so beaten up that I walk away.

Qwkslver, your machines are lovely. I am still looking for a white FW. When I do find them, the price is way too much.... maybe, someday. In the meantime, I'm just enjoying the other machines that I have.

I probably should have, but the machine was SO sharp.... I really do need to pick two and part with the third....

Singer 201 sighted on machine quilting frame!!

I've ran across several blogs in the last few weeks of people using Singer 201s and Singer 66s on their machine quilting frames!!

    1956 Featherweight and goodies

On my spring break I traveled south. Found this in a pawn shop. Real nice condition and after help from the QB I got the threading right and it runs wonderfully. Got a full compliment of goodies to go with and extras! Later model button holer, a little gizmo for weaving/darning called an Speedveve and 30 some extra button hole cams.
