I don't know if you can make out the painted on freckles on the little girl, but I should add that she had won the earlier Becky Thatcher look-alike contest, dress, freckles, cane fishing pole, and all....

It wasn't a real productive day but I stopped at a yard sale and picked this up. It's not much, but I think it's all there. So many of these Whites seem to come up missing the slide plate, it could have some value down the road as a part machine. There plenty of rust and the clear coat (shellac??) is flaking off. It cost me a 1.00. I grabbed a pair of jeans with holes in the knees for free to use as shop rags too.

You couldn't go wrong for $1.00. Looks like it's about 80% dirt and grime and about 20% rust. You might be surprised how nice it looks with a little TLC. I have a couple in worse shape I plan to restore.
Those old White Rotaries are well made machines. I'd say in some ways a little more heavily built than a comparable Singer.

Yep, you got a great deal for a buck. I paid $5 for the one I gave Rodney. Of course, it was in slightly better shape when I bought it than when I gave it to him.

Back to the topic, we made a haul today. Got a ton of stuff for baby Sage including a like new car shaped walker, and a new boppy, and for me a Singer cabinet for a 3/4 size machine.

Yep, I don't think mine's been peed on lol! Nice find on the cabinet for a 3/4 size. Those aren't easy to find.

I know! It's been painted white but I think I can live with that. I'm hoping it's bait for a 3/4 size machine.

What do you think it held originally? If it was a 99 you can have the one you gave me back for it.
This sort of thing is why I have such a hard time getting rid of anything. I might need it again someday. Whether that day ever gets here is irrelevant.

No Rodney the 99 is yours. I love what you've done with it. I think it held either a 99 or a 185. I think I might have a newer 99 somewhere, it seems to me I've tripped over a two toned case at the trailer a few times. What I'm hoping to someday find is a Japanese 3/4. Don't run across them very often.
