Thanks for the descriptor. I'm very visual and it helps when I am looking for such.

I'll be asking for it when I am in the LQS'.
Generally I don't look at the notions a lot, other than for what I know I want/need. Sadly, I find that when I ask what's this? how does it work? etc. ......... then I get back whatever the packaging says and a comment of, I've never used it.

Oh, OK ..... and in my mind I am saying, Why should I believe you? If you're trying to sell it wouldn't it be a great idea to give these things a try? Oh well!!!

Sometimes I feel I have learned far more from being here on the QB than dealing with my LQS' IRL. And honestly, because the USA often has things sooner than we to the North, I often have heard of products and asked for them, long before the LQS' have. Another reason why I often don't ask any longer, as their reactions have oft given a somewhat unwelcome feeling.

So that's my rant for today .... I'll step down off the soap box now!

Ok, after working 2 hours, the BB block is together the right way. Forget the number of times I had to rip out, to resew the seam again. I starched it heavier and it passes my test, so will include it too in the BB exchange. Thought the piece of fabric was going to fray too much but I just up at it being 'close' to right...who will notice the 1/16 error?? someone with two eyes probably. Just remember, there's a lot of friendship in those stitches!!

QuiltE, how interesting;never seen so many lights on a tractor...what is the source of their power?? Amazing sight.

JanRN, we heard you were going on a FART trip but not about the results of it. Work...going to work?? You are blessed to have a job and have the health to do it and to get to talk to someone other than your dh...takes a retired person to relate to the latter comment. Your work will wait, and not yell too loud at you.

GG, please tell us if you found any interesting notions or fabric on your trip!!

Carrie, so happy you are enjoying to box contents. Thinking the cookies in the other boxes may have become 'dunk' cookies now; the kind that seem 'hard' but soften nicely when dipped into a hot liquid, like coco or tea or even coffee. Need to finish the job and clean up all my cookie things in the kitchen, but not rushing in to do it!!

Mph sfmg. Sorry, talking with my mouth full. QNS, those cookies hit the spot! And no, they are not dunkers, they are fresh and delicious. And you are so right about going to work to have someone to talk to. DH loves to read and dumb me got him a Kindle. He has to read a book start to finish in one sitting. Well he's going to be sitting on that Kindle if he doesn't start talking to me at least once an evening. Bet Amazon would like a picture of that Kindle for their ads LOL!!! Shopping trip was good--got almost everything done for Christmas except gift cards for grands. Ate lunch at an Amish restaurant--yum! Home made biscuts with creamed turkey (real turkey!) and fresh made apple pie.
There's a cheese factory attached to the restaurant so got lots of fresh made cheeses (and it'll all probably be gone before the holidays.

Cheese cake factory used to be in the Mall in Corpus Christi, Tx; love cheese cake!! Glad to hear from you JanRN and that you enjoyed some time for yourself after a full day's work. Yes, I love that adorable, loveable print you sent to me!! That JackA** is the emblem for our USA State of Missouri, maybe the only place in the world where JAs are loved...four legged and two legged! If they exported them, the state could do away with property tax! Gonna' make a couple of new throws for a couple of our own kids who got that double take of stubbornness (from us) with that print.

QNSue ... each tractor/implement has a gas generator on board. I wish there were pictures to show you the 2012 version. It was outstanding and the best yet! A lot of the entries had music playing, with incredible quality of sound. One float had "cloggers" dancing along to Christmas music. We were part of the starting group for the parade, and now 20 yrs later, only 5 of the original 20 are in the parade. So I'm pretty attached to the Parade and what it has turned into. Add to that, that it began/ended at our farm. And the new farm owners have continued to do so.

JanRN ... sounds like a great day out shopping. Eating Amish is always so good ... I have a few not far away spots to enjoy too! As for the Kindle ... maybe you'll have to be like you would with the kids and confiscate it on him, if he doesn't behave!

QNSue ... Oh my! I can tell there's going to be a couple of interesting throws coming up. I'll hope that those two kids inherited your sense of humour .... along with the double-stubbornness genes!!

Got my hubby a Kindle for Father's Day. He is the same way, just reads all the time! I introduced him to Pixel of Ink too, they send a newsletter to your email daily and have free books. He is always downloading books (me too). We are both readers! It really cut down on the tons of books he always took along when we travel. Just the Kindle goes now!

Pixelofink is my favorite site, too, Jeanie. I haven't bought a "real" book in over a year other than quilting books. At one time we had extra book shelves built because we had so many books. I've been slowly giving those away to friends (let them store them LOL) and taking a lot to the Humane Society Thrift Shop. DH & I have different reading habits. I like to stretch out reading a book, a few chapters a night. He has to read start to finish in one or 2 "sittings". And NO TALKING--that's what drives me crazy.

Oh, Jan I read like your DH! LOL Or, at least I did before I quit readin' over 4 years ago. I guess I'm still in mournin' for DDad & DFIL, now DMIL. My #2 DSon said that he figured that we all were still mournin' because DMIL became lost from us while the 2 men died. For him the nightmare is over. I'm so glad. I still can't read for more that a couple o' pages & I git restless. Maybe soon.

I am a reader and so is my oldest DD. We are ones that can sit and read all day. I am ok with talking though so it doesn't get me in trouble. I get books at the library and can finish in a day or two. Part of the reason I don't bring home books too often is I don't get much quilting done if I have a good book!

I don't have a Kindle or other kind of tablet but the kids and I might be getting an ipad to share for Christmas, so I'll have to keep that site in mind for an easier way to take books with me.

Sorry Bev that reading is one of the things you can't do right now. I am sure with time you will be able to enjoy it again. Praying for you during your grieving process.

Yesterday I got another Rosie block done and got a good start on cutting fabrics for my BBs.

I am like your husband when I read too. I get irritated if someone interrupts me when I am reading. I tune Joe out (poor guy) don't even hear him when I am "into" a good book. When my kids were young, I could not read at all! I would tune them out, it really scared me, so I stopped reading until they were much older!
