Oh dear! Just took a break and got on the computer to check emails. There is just too many temptations such as free shipping. I didn't get anything so far this month, and I didn't use pay pal last month so I believe I didn't buy anything last month either. I did stop in a local quilt shop last week to get some paper hexagons and did see a lovely baby quilt all kitted up. It was tempting, but I know that I have flannel that I can use to make some baby blankets for baby showers coming up.

The only wagon I might fall off will be some farm wagon holding bean seed or the trailer with field rocks. Yes, we are finally getting the soybeans planted. It was a long month of cold, rainy weather.

Ok, I wasn't in any discomfort, but I sure was ticked off, and someone posted a discount code in the links section. I ordered a couple books and some neutrals that were on sale. I am a sucker for neutrals. They go with everything because they are... neutral! This is why I was able to cut a 40 piece jelly roll, all unique, from beiges. and I was feeling so smug ignoring JoAnn's super senior day sale.
Martina, those samplers are killers for me too. Just quilted one for my cousin. I just pumpkin seeded/continuous curved every patch.
Definitely an exemption!
I am thinking I am due a stress exemption.... dealing with my family on my Mom's estate has me in tears almost daily. I need something happy in my life for a change, and fabric and thinking about all of the wonderful possibilities makes me happy.

Oh, Lori, I'm so sorry! All that estate stuff is really stressful by itself add in the family drama and I agree. You might need a bit of retail therapy.

Lori S: (((Hugs))) Those estate things are so hard on a person when family members don't want to abide what the donor wishes were. Even if they do abide by the will, estate matters are just stressful. We had a stupid brother-in-law that wanted to value the father-in-law's land very high. All that did was give the attorney a bigger cut and more estate taxes.

Paper Princess: There was an older lady in the clinic lab to draw blood that everyone avoided. I would be black an d blue from my elbow to my hand. We were very thankful when she retired. I have gotten where I speak up and demand someone else to draw blood if the tech won't listen when I tell them where the best place to draw. My veins are deep and hard to find. As a patient, you have rights not to be a pin cushion.

I know what you mean...yesterday I had to run and get 3 bags of seed corn to finish up the last field; this is for silage corn...no beans here...first crop of hay is about ready to cut...not sure if I will be chopping or not..Sun. sure felt nice today in the NE part of the state.

Quilty hugs to all of you who are having stressful times, through weather, work, loss of loved ones, estate settling and even just Boo Boo's. A tiny fabric fix might just be in order and can be like chocolate..sometimes just necessary. I broke down and talked one of my fellow QG members out of a 1/2 yd of brown. I had NO brown in my stash.. Making a table runner and place mats for a wedding gift. She was happy to help me out since we trade favors. So I can say that I have not bought any fabric for May! Have a safe and happy Memorial holiday, everyone.

Lori: You have my complete sympathy. You would think our last name was Warbucks the way people acted. Saw a side of people that I hope never to see again.
To all you who are "toiling in the fields" or even in your gardens, I don't think a fat quarter or two would be amiss. If you can't quilt you need a reward.

I think a few more annual flowers to finish my beds would be great medicine this morning. Gotta run to town to get some lunch stuff for the soybean planting crew. It is really cloudy, but we are crossing our fingers that it doesn't rain. Yes, it would be lovely to get a fat quarter or two, but I better stay away from the LQS. I'm saving for a FART trip with my girlfriend.

Hope everyone will have a great Memorial weekend. I will miss going to the cemeteries in Nebraska where my relatives are buried.

Oh darn! I gotta go have a furbaby roundup. Out on the east road!
