Thanks everyone. It actually felt great. I have so many UFOs that I really need to work on and new fabric tends to create new UFOs, so I think it was a good decision.
Now I just need to get this baby quilt finished so I can move to some of those UFOs.

Well, I did it! Turned in my paper at the guild tonight to participate in the UFO challenge. I picked 10 at random from those I could remember being in the pile.

"About the only thing I need to buy this year will be batting... and I'll wait until Foust Textiles does their "open to the public" sale and buy the roll."
You won't need to wait long, Leta. It is Feb 10 and 11.

And hopefully, they'll have their packaged batting at a decent price as well.

fantastic, I was not aware you could return fabric after it had been cut and taken home.

I've been very good so far...Haven't bought any fabric. I've decided to take a cue from Grinch and any time I get the urge to buy some fabric I'm going to go look at my stash LOL!
I just posted a pic of the baby quilt that I finished this morning, it's in the pics section under the heading Baby Quilt. I made it completely from stash fabrics, which is why it's got a three piece backing.

Krystyna - good for you! Fabric is twice as hard to part with once it comes into the house.

Slowly getting my charming 9P pieced together...enough of the squares and setting blocks to audition some outer border fabrics from stash...think I found the right one, but I'll keep an open mind..
Didn't know cut fabrics could be returned...at my LQS, once it is cut and out the door it's yours, unless you find a flaw in the fabric.

I have never heard of returning cut fabric either. My first "real" job (i.e., they took out taxes) was at a fabric shop, and I worked at two other fabric shops while in college. We were not allowed to take back cut fabric at any of the places I worked - unless there was a flaw in the fabric, as oksewglad mentioned.
