I normally join all border strips on the diagonal, both narrow and wide, unless I'm trying to join a stripe. There's quite a bit of fabric wasted when you do a wider border on the diagonal -- maybe that's the reason Bonnie prefers doing the wider border straight.

Bonnie said at some point (QuiltCam, maybe?) that she prefers wide borders joined straight because of the waste involved in anything very wide.

After several days of frustrating delays, I finally got to spend a few hours in my sewing room today. The blocks are now going together and getting put up on the design wall. Hopefully there will be more time to work on it again soon. I'd really like to get this one finished so I can go back to working on other projects that were started before this mystery quilt marathon.

Those look awesome so far, Podunk...

Once the design was revealed I seemed to go into procrastination mode. Made about 10 blocks and that was it. I need to get back into it so it doesn't become a UFO. There's still so much work to do. Got to finish my son's Christmas sweater, first tho! Any day now...

Very pretty Miss Rita. My top has been ready to quilt just waiting for quilt on the frame to get quilted. Instead of the black border I used one of my reds (it goes better in my bedroom) and made it smaller because it wouldn't fit on my quilting frame. Thank you all for allowing me to be a part of your group. I look so forward to see each and everyone's posting!
