Thank you all for allowing me to be a part of your group. I look so forward to see each and everyone's posting!
Tweety, could you post a pic of your finished top? I'd love to see it with a red border!

This morning I took some time and started sewing my rows together. I have the first half joined. I'd like to get this done and ready for quilting this weekend.

I've still got some "putting away" to do before I can use the long arm again, but it's getting there!

I made it all the way to the longest row. The rows aren't joined to each other since it will be QAYG

I love the blue Kassaundra. I hope you'll pot your progress with the QAYG. I'm not sure how that works so I'll be eager to see how you do it.

I finished my top today! I'm glad to finally get here. I had some serious border removal and replacement issues. While adding the black, I found a tiny tear in my gold inner border. I had to remove an entire segment of the gold border and then cut a replacement to match! Can you see it? It's right at the very edge at the seam line. I do not know what happened there.

There are several ways to do qayg, I have been debating in my head which one I was going to do. I decided on the "border" method b/c of all the matching seams. I will start at the corner triangle and sandwich and quilt it (simple boring quilting I'm afraid straight lines). Then I will take the long edge and right sides to right sides pin the top to the top at the matching points and the backing to the backing stitch the 1/4 inch seam. Unfold back in place sandwich w/ batting, quilt the 10.5 inch wide strip and do it again. I am a HORRIBLE quilter, seriously. I had thought about doing some fmq on the rows instead of straight line but I don't want to ruin the quilt.

Kassaundra, that's looking so good!

Mrs. SewNSew, I hope we will see a photo soon!

I have liked all the borders I've seen -- black, red, gray, gold and multi-prints. I don't know which I will choose when the time comes.
