Turtle did you go to the link in the pm you got? And did you look down the list of members until you found someone that was teaching what you wanted to learn? Then did you click on their icon and pm them?

Here is the link. It will take you to our group activity page. From there as you scroll down you will find out all about our members and you can contact those that you think you might like for a quilting mommy or daddy.

whew I'm safe. I wondered over to BOM because I really don't understand the concept. And I can now say with authority that "I don't understand the concept." I can be so thick headed it isn't funny.
There was one that was suppose to be all about flowers. But I really didn't see any flowers in the patterns. Could be my pattern recognition isn't up to the standard required. And the other ones just scared me. I didn't really understand at all. Glad we have this thread. I feel safe here.

I have done some paper piecing and I love it! Not all that experienced, but I am having trouble finding patterns, free or otherwise. I once did a paper pieced Marinars star and it came out great. I was hooked! Is anyone still doing this? Also, is there a way to make a pattern into a paper pieced one? Any direction anyone can give me is great, newby or not, thanks

You can also take almost any pattern and make it a paper pieced pattern. Send me a pm if you want information on this.
Happy piecing!

jshep, For fabric,I always look at what pleases me. I like to find lights mediums and darks in the same family. Then I even try to find the in between tones too. I like solids and prints or florals together. My main love is art quilts. or scenes. So I look at fabric and see skies, waters, trees, tree bark. old wood for barns or houses. Right now am doing a quilt with old barns and different animals in it. I hand applique, needle turn.i look for grasses, and rocks etc. long winded arent I. And this is just a start. I take breaks by working on My Jane is an Okie.lol Jolo
