I'm home now, and can't wait to see the friend and the new machine. I can do the upper body happy dance, the lower bod will have to wait a while.
I am sorry to hear you had to have surgery, but everyone I know that had a knee replacement wished they hadn't waited so long to get it done!

On a happy note, congratulations for the new 301!

I second all of this!! Knee and 301!! Hope you get on your feet (well...knee!) soon, and get sewing on your new 301.

That is a wonderful quilt to honor that young man's achievement! And you did it all on treadles....extra special!! :-)
Thank you! It was a fun project to do on all those different machines in treadles.

I am looking at a Singer 66-14 model machine. I was wondering if any of you have an opinion on that model. What is it capable of doing, like more than straight stitch, are bobbins easily available, etc?
It comes with it's original cabinet for $100.
The owner said that it has a knee controller. Can it be changed to a foot pedal?
    Thanks,

Would I be crazy to not go grab this for $25? Even if for just a shelf ornament?

With you on this one....one of our cheap machines kept having tension problems, even after going to the shop. DH kept saying he was going to use it for target practice with his 45!! LOL

There are a couple pieces that he knows are missing (bobbin cover plate) and it 'looks' like the bobbin chamber may be rusty. His pictures were dark so hard to tell. I "think" i'm excited..although I may have to rent space in my office warehouse to keep my HOBBY! LOL
I'm in Indianapolis, bring it by.
