Hello Everyone ... some quick notes and then to bed!
    bitterly cold here too!

    OKSGlad ...
what a change for you to venture into the modern era!! I bet it will be refreshing to have a change. with lots of creativity from it.

GGal ... oh what a fun time ... a serious FART! Bet that new fabric jinxed your Spike reversal.

Anael ... great I Spy ... just found out my "adopted" niece is having another babe in October. Plus her cousin's babe from December that I want a quilt done for his Christening. Looks like I might be doing two I Spy's too!

DDamsel ... good to see you in your fleeting internet availability! You'll have to give Sugar a pep talk, and tell her that a Mother's duty is never done ... single Mom and guard dog, all in one.

JanRN ... yea for opening day!!!! Discover should send you a get well $$gift$$!!

MiraB ... oh I like your style .. no purchase, with huge shipments coming in the door! ....................... 49!

One more DJ done tonight! Going to be tight to make my March goals, but still hoping that most will be done, including the DJs. How are the other Boosters doing?

Dubib...what a happy time for you in Houston! Glad you're back without allergies.
Jan..I understand the fabric fast from the bad weather but it makes it real easy to justify purchases now. Have fun at the quilt show.
mirabelle....do you buy most of your fabric online? I've only done it a couple of times and don't enjoy it as much as IRL. My QB is constantly introducing me to more shops in the area so there are plenty of places to pet fabrics before purchasing.
QuiltE...you're absolutely right. The new fabric is much more exciting right now than the SYE. I did do some unsewing on it yesterday but since the rows have many corners, I went down the wrong path a couple of times and row 2 now needs some additions.
Just got the new McCalls and look at this. http://www.mccallsquilting.com/mccal...Pillow_Pattern
there is a full sized quilt with this pattern. I've been watching recent patterns that have a variety of sized block that use the same fabric for sashing and backing and love the affect. I want to try this one for sure.

It is good to hear from 'riders' who have been very busy on their own rides and doing successful things.

My timetable has been delayed again and again, so little done toward goals. Did work on Fab Stars, finished Florida and started on GA. Pieces one and two are getting to me; hated geometry. Will try that 90 degree angle again this morning and see if I have better luck...if not, I may continue onward and come back to that later. Knee is not swollen this morning, so that is good news.

Dublb, glad you enjoyed Houston; its one big city with lots to do there. QuiltE, how wonderful to sew for two special deliveries to happy parents. Great project in McCalls, GardenGal.

Everyone have a nice Spring Day.

All's quiet on the trail...My DS's car's engine froze up & the transmission blew a hole in the bottom pan...He just had it serviced last week...What can happen next????? it seems doom & gloom has been sitting on my doorstep for awhile now and all I want to do is kick his a-- down the road!!! I have to give him my car to use while his gets fixed...I'm going into work on Sunday for the afternoon..My employer told me today that there's no heat in the building..Gas leak is suspected so they shut everything down... We had a $$$ back warranty that if we didn't use it we would get our money back when we bought our new car 100,000 miles ago..we didn't use it and now they're reneging on the deal...Had to get the regional manager to look into it...What else can happen this week...I'm having a glass of wine right now...I know it's early...I don't care...dinner is on the stove and they can help themselves...

Honchey, it might take more than one glass of wine...and a good night's sleep to make you feel better in the morning... good news is you do not have to repeat today again... never ask what next, 'cause sh1@ hits the fan...

Murphey's Law. Weekend will be the greatest weather all winter; then it goes down hill from there. Smile. and laugh!

GGal I purchase almost all of my fabric online. I do have 2 very small LQS in my little town but they are way too expensive and if I drive an hour to Townsville there are 4 LQS but their fabric is also too expensive, anywhere from $28 to $35 per metre (39inches)
For example rotary cutter blades are $14 each here but I have just purchased a pack of 10 from Hancock's of Paducah for $34. That is a huge saving. Equilter, Hancock's and Thousand of Bolts usually have a discounted shipping every few months so I tend to buy then. Even with shipping costs my fabric usually only costs me around the $10 to $12 per yard, sometimes a little less if it is on sale, which is a third of the costs here.
Yes it is nice to pet fabric, but I would not have the stash I have if I had to pay full price for my fabric, or I would have to go back to work to pay for my addiction er I mean hobby I also get to visit so many different shops in the US especially if I am looking for a specific piece of fabric.

Honchey I hope things are going a little better for you today.

The sun is shinning, its suppose to be a beautiful weekend; take some time to enjoy after the winter we have all been through....if just on line here. Its, this one line, is like the 'comfort' spot of the day, to hear from friends near and far, and that makes it very special to me. Discovered where QuiltE and Mirabelle are 'chatting' about their DJs...and seen the progress, very nice ladies. You are inspiring me to 'engage' in built more blocks there....soon.
