The machine was in Illinois, I brought it with me to Georgia. my serial # is C78415
Here are some of the Free's listed here:
Mine 627, Nana 774, Debbie 780, Monica 782, Trish 111 & 780, Kitzone 816, I started tracking them with the serial numbers so we could figure out ages!

She reminded me of a car I have wanted to own all of my life. A 1957 T-Bird with the port hole window. Had to be tourquoise! I will never own the car,but here is the next best thing. She sews the fastest I have ever see a machine sew and is so quiet! I have heard zippers that are louder! What do you think...ain't she purdy!

I do most of the sewing, repair of clothing an also love to copy pictures of old habits for people who want them.
Looking at your avatar, it looks like you are into horses too. My horse is 32 years old and we are growing old together!

Yes, I have several horses. The oldest one is 29, my retired champion show horse. I ride almost everyday.
I love to hear the stories where people keep their horses till the end - my horses never get sold.

Very cool looking and sews about anything.
Oh and CONGRATULATIONS on your Elna! Isn't it fun to have a few vintage machines!

Oh that and no grease or oil on anything so I have a big thick piece of cardboard I put on the table with an old blanket to work on the machines. I cant do anything about the repaints until I hear from my dermatologist and see why my face is doing what it is from the snake bite but that will be Fridays dealings. For now I am just servicing them and doing the Kerosene baths out in the garage.

I'm sure he's in sewing machine heaven doing repairs and giving machine advise to some who have passed on.

The idea behind them is that the person stitching could then see the line of stitches being formed.
It was patented on May 6, 1873...here's the patent application.

How I wish that I had kept a log of machines posted way back from when the shop first opened. They are all so beautiful.
