So I put it in my 66 Treadle #1 and went to sewing. Didn't even change hand wheels. I have lots of machines that can run on a treadle base, but I have a personality quirk. If a machine comes in case or a treadle, that machine will stay there. So to use one of the other machines I'll need to find a treadle with no head.
As for the putting the 319 in a treadle I suggested it to my wife and her response was: "NO!". Accompanied with a glare usually reserved for her boss. ( I think we'll table that idea.)

I treadle a 201 that doesn't have a spoke wheel. Purplefiend does too; from one of her posting of her 201 in treadle, I learned that it could be done.

To go slow you need a machine with a good strong motor and a responsive foot controller. My HOTHER is such a machine as is several others. I can feather the throttle on them and sew very slow.
I haven't mastered "slow" on a treadle yet. When I try the thing stalls on me.

I took Rusty apart as far as I have because I had to get the rust out of all the joints and connections. One of those things that if I didn't have to, I wouldn't have.
