Here ya'll go. No, not mine, she is still sitting over there looking pretty. Never part with that but for those of you that are in the market, this looks to be a good Featherweight Cabinet. Original, not repro.

I suggested to my wife that we convert 'her' 319K to a treadle machine and she gave me on of those looks.
Unless a person lives where there is no electricity I don't see any advantage to converting such machines to run on treadles. I've got 4 original treadles now and they do fine. And I've got an empty treadle cabinet and base that's looking for a resident. So one never can tell what I just might stick in there. My only desire is to have a good solid treadle machine that has a reverse. I just might put my 66-18 in a treadle cabinet, but so far it lives in a bent wood case.

My 319 is in treadle just because I think it is so cool to treadle a machine with decorative stitches! Good exercise too!

I guess, if you already own a machine you just want to treadle - but, I have a thing about modifying the machines? Joe, you can get a 319, 306, 206 that just drop in a treadle with no modifications at all! All you have to do is remove the motor, put the machine in any Singer treadle, hook up the belt and go! The 319 has about 30 cams for decorative stitching and it has 5 (I think, I will have to look) built in stitches for satin and zig zag. You can also combine those built in stitches with the cams to make your own versions of decorative stitches. So, I ask why anyone would want to get a machine that had to be modified? I guess, I could understand it if the machine was just one you absolutely loved, or I think Monica got that 328 for free, but still if you want to treadle a more 'modern' type machine get one that doesn't need modifications.

By the way, after my grandson did his number on my 319w, and I spent two days trying to fix it - I made two pillow shams last night for his (grandson's) bed to match the Dinosaur Train quilt I made him last summer! Not one skipped stitch! I am so proud of myself for fixing that machine! She just purrs away while I treadle her!

My 328k, has the option of treadle power or e-machine. The manual shows this option. I was just curious and wanted to play with this option since I love to treadle a machine. I also wanted to see what it would be like to do decorative stitches and treadle machine.
I didn't have to take the motor out of machine. It was a simple removal of the belt from wheel to motor inside the machine, removal of the plug in front, dropping the machine in treadle, and adding a belt. I can still use the light that came with the machine!
My Necchi Supernova Ultra has the same option, treadle or not. I have it set up for treadle.
There are many free manuals that can be found on the internet, just google and hunt for them. In the manual it will state the options.

Monica if you didn't have to modify the 328, why is there a big hole in the back of your machine? And, where is the belt on the right side? I can only see the belt on the left side? I don't even see a hole for the belt to go into on the right side? What am I missing here?
I agree with you, that I just like to treadle the machines; and, it is a workout if done very long! Last night while I was making those pillow shams, I was treadling like a fool to get done before I had to go over to watch Marcus for a couple hours. I wanted to take the shams with me as my DIL just decided to use the quilt I made him last summer. I could feel the burning in my legs after a while, especially when going down the long and short sides of the sham, which I do twice to re-inforce the french seams! Those ladies that treadled all day long had to have strong legs; and, I bet they were in pretty good shape too!
