The fabric is alive! ...Listen to these women petting their fabrics!!! Guilty as charged. Sometimes precious, new fabric just has to be kept to oneself for a while. Fondling my fabric was one of the joys of moving my sewing area. Good luck on rearranging that sewing space, QNS.

Have my MB done for the month and getting envelope ready to mail. I think **** will like this addition to her blocks.

GGal--love how you are cautioning our MO friend to take care of herself. So nice to see how much we care about each other. What a fun trip with friends--one of the fun things about checking out other fabric shops is to see how individual each are. We have a shop nearby similar to the hoarder shop--but love to go through the bolts that are organized by color--such a richness of design on every bolt punctuated by an occasional tone on tone.

I think I'm in DD country today--wind coming up from the south--had 1.7 inches of rain early this morning--had to get up and shut windows. Amazing how fast the house gets stuffy when you are used to wide open windows. Thank goodness DH opened them up before he went out this am Bounced on the lawn mower yesterday, and got some flower beds worked on. Also picked first of the broccoli and a few radishes. This rain has fostered regrowth on the kale I harvested last week. DIL has been instructed to have at the garden produce when we are gone. Hers is a little later than mine (with all she does--imagine that!)--will share some of the broccoli with her.

QE--aka FWH--Farm Wife for Hire--what a find your friend has in you! Always enjoy the look on DH's face when I say--"Do you w-ant me to run and get that?" especially when life is extra hectic--although not to happy to pay for the $20 gas cap for the one green tractor the other day.

mirabelle--rest is good. Your recent finishes are so enviable--thanks for sharing.

Carrie--showed Emily your quilt--yup she loves the jewel tones. Now to see if Gma has some!!! She's ready to get sewing again now that school's out. And promised Elise I would work with her later on.

Need to get something accomplished. Later, all.

With a wet, cool day my mission is to get a couple of comfy knit pants sewn to wear for our trip. Have a great fitting black pair that I will copy a pattern from. Love how this particular pair fits in the leg area and "falls" naturally without a lot of extra fabric.

GrannyQ---you must have heard QNS begging for blocks! Your quilt is going to be fantastic. Great to see the BB all fun and done too.

YESSSSSSSSSSSS let's do just that QNS

Carrie, I will but it will take a while before I start. I will show the fabrics when they've arrived.

GrannyQ, beautiful MB you got from our FWH !

This is what happened with my peonies after the heavy rain of yesterday

MiraB ... hope that your son is recovering well, and being a patient-patient! And that your shoulder is feeling a little better.

GGal
... I know all about how hard it is to resist temptation! I keep saying that I am going to, and then this fabric jumps into my arms and says "take me home, free me from this place!" And I listen! So what all did you get at the first place? I know a few of those hoarder shops, particularly in our Menno/Amish area ... made worse when there is no electricity. NEVER go on a dull day, and still terrible on a bright day. As for DSMiraB ... he'd better be a good patient after all the sewing she does for him!!

QNSue ... you could always lay the fabric on the guest bed, and use it as is and call it a new trend ..... wannabe-quilts!

Anael ... looks like you had a fun time ... spending someone else's $$. Now if you could only figure out how to get her to pay for your DS fabric! Any luck on Isa's quilt backing yet?

CarrieM ... your shop is no where near the hoarder shops I am thinking! It is very nicely displayed and so tidy looking! I laughed at the on-sale-bathtub ... an LQS near me does that too! Another shop has several antique baby cribs, for displays ... mainly used to keep groupings together. I love the look they give in the shop.

GrannyQ ... I'm so happy your MB has arrived! That's the same red as I used in my PC cornerstones. Is it the same as CarrieM used in your star? And what a great finish to your BBs!

OKSGlad ... it was kind of fun putting that "hat" back on! And to think as I did the errand running, I never even diverted to an LQS! Much simpler than when I was on the farm ... had to figure out how to keep the food on the table while running the roads or in the field! Good luck on the pattern and then making them ... pants are tricky to get fitting just right!

And what a sad ending to my reading ... to see Anael's Peony, officially Pooped! I hate it when the rain does that to our flowers!!

Speaking of Which ...... Alberta is having a terrible time with rains and floods.
JanieW ... sorry, I forget "exactly" where your DS and family are ... and am hoping and praying you/they are out of harms way! I know if you are back home, you should be safe. Gosh, that pics on the TV have been horrendous!

Mystery MBs ... Wasn't it agreed before that MB can certainly be posted by the sending MB person, if the MB recipient has received and cannot. I not only am enjoying seeing them, but am trying to use them to help me coordinate to previous blocks. Here's hoping that OKSGlad and GrannyQ have photos! Is that all we are missing? Post away, Ladies!

I haven't been on much lately, my DH has to undergo treatments for the bigC, so I probably won't be on much for quite a while, I'm trying to get some projects done that I can work on by hand and also finish some others. He starts treatments next week. Thank you so much for your lovely comments.

Anael, we can start right here on our raid!! And pet all my fabric from the Iowa Shop Hop (there were 82, QuiltE, but the BF at Centerville was officially off the list) Made it to eight or so, I think...and the fabric I got from BF during their closing sale! One lady literally stood on their porch and waved us into her parking lot!

I think, QuiltE, there are a couple of hold outs in posting MBs. {[(QuiltE, Janie is in Red Deer, AL., and I hope she is alright!)]} I like how Mirabelle and GrannyQ showed us all the squares together. They look so special and lovely that way. And I liked GrannyQs BB show and tell, too. Have gotten mine together, need to get it quilted next, love the way they look!! Great job on yours, GrannyQ.

Mirabelle, hope ds appreciates your TLC. Don't forget to take care of yourself, too.

Think dh and I are going back to the QBlock and talk to the owners about sewing cabinets and how the machines are setting in each one, before the 30 days are up...then I can arrange the sewing room to our satisfaction, letting us both move around in the tables and sew.

Beautiful job, GrannyQ. Our prayers and thoughts will be sent to you via a whole virtual RV full of us together. {[(hugs)]} coming your way. Don't forget to care for yourself a bit, so you will not burn out on caring for dh.

GrannyQ ... so sorry to know what you and your husband dealing with. Good for you for thinking ahead, to some on-the-go projects for you. Perhaps some GFGs? When I had all the waiting-room-sits with my husband, I did a lot of embroidery on printed seasonal vest panels. And where are they now? .... sitting in a box of unfinished embroidery. I've been contemplating cutting them apart and turning them into quilt blocks!

What a spectacular bursting star you made, GrannyQ ... perfect points and great colour mixes to give the burst effect. What is the block name?

I forgot to mention ... GrannyQ's MB pattern. Many of us have seen the on point block before as Paths and Styles, which apparently is aka Friendship Block. I turned it on point, then added the corner strips/triangles. Oh, forgot ... also did a multi sq-in-sq for the centre that normally would have been a plain block.
