Hi Everyone, It seems like we are all headed in several directions and not all of us will be participating in these directions...
I checked out the FF challenge thread and from what I read QuiltE will be heading the DJ and I believe there will be a new thread for it...I will be following along on this trail ride with her and the many other Janiac Maniacs...
At this point 50 stars is not on my list...sorry, Carriem...My PC & FWSQ are calling me to finish getting them put together...These and all the many little projects I have neglected for so long have been left alone too long...as you all know I will be having my knee replaced in the near future so this thread will stay as it is until we have another round-up and we decide what to do as a group... I welcome any suggestions or opinions as to what to do...please feel free to talk about where we're going as a group..we are adults after all.
My first suggestion is to let it be known on this thread so none of us feel left out..I don't navigate all the threads...
************************************************** ***********************
Anael, that table topper is so pretty..the fabrics are so rich....glad you're up & about..
Mirabelle, That Bargello is going to be an eye stopper when it's done..Love your DH's pose..it's so whimsicle.
QNS..Will you be doing the DJ with the Janiacs???
GGal..You'll be able to do the "stars" like a breeze...the patterns are like alot that we've done here...
I'm off to finish the shopping for my sister's baking list...Sale prices here are better than De..Will empty the car and repack with flour, sugar, butter, xtra cookie sheets, cooling racks, etc...I hope the roads clear up..3 major highways & the DE bridge were closed yesterday..I'm leaving Wed. & coming home on Sat..I see the oral surgeon tomorrow..area he worked on last April is acting up again ...
Have a good day all of you...Later..H.

Oral surgeon Just saying it makes my teeth ache ! !
Honchey, do you mean by what to do as a group if we want to stay together? Yes, I do! I like this thread and I love coming here. It's the first thing I do in the morning and the last thing before I go to sleep. And when I wake up at night I go downstairs and read what you're all up to

Yes, Anael, I do want this group to stay intact...I just don't want there to be confusion as to all the different threads going on and then everyone disappears and wonders what's going on...

My list I want to do is growing for January and things I need to do is a longer list.
I have promised Janie to work with her on the Irish Mist, so that is first on the list in January.
And would love to do the 50 stars with Carrie, but not sure I can do two a week. I have two (2) Dear Jane BOM coming from Quilting on the Square because I like Mary's instructions on her SYE blocks....one is batik fabrics, packets will be arriving in the middle of January. Plus I have my border to finish on PC and a border for the BB that are sewn together and the SYE series to finish. Yes, I would love to continue to 'hangout' here with you all.
I see the specialist Wednesday for glasses; my left eye had issues with the right eye, and I feel like I am 'crosseyed' in trying to sew or thread a needle. Left eye is seeing just enough to cause me problems...it needs prescription lens where the right eye is already seeing 20/20. And I need a 'reading dot' in each eye lens in the lower part for reading.
Have fun in Delaware, Honchey and drive with care.

I won't do 2 Stars a week. Some take a whole day to sew, at least for me. DJ the same, I couldn't finish the assigned blocks in one day, it will depend on the schedule if I can keep up with DJ. I can do without the stress of having to finish so many blocks each week. So I think 2 Sylvia's and one Star block together with a few DJ blocks might be doable. Besides I have to catch up with the SYE, I only made 3 so far.

It takes me two or three days to do one SYE block. So I wonder how long it will take me to make a star...maybe two days...that's four to five days total, then try to do some DJ on the side...I do not think I will be a threat to Lacelady's record of 6 months and 22 days to make the DJ and quilt it by hand. I do not do hand work anymore. It was truly worthly of QB's making it the quilt of the week. Beautiful work done by Lacelady.

QNS, I'm not either. I've 95 blocks, 1 kite and 14 triangles now and worked on it for almost 3 years now. I hope I will finish the blocks next year. Don't talk about finishing the top, only the blocks. I never did any hand quilting, maybe DJ is a good start? QAYG like Jan does, only batting, no backing.

Hi, ladies. So nice to sit with a hot mocha coffee and catch up with all the goings on. You are all so productive--the bargello is breathtaking, the table topper so festive, I'm anxious to get to the Bat Cave and start sewing.
Carrie, you will be so proud of me! I (finally) have Rosie half quilted! It's been staring at me and haunting me so I finally jumped in and started. It's not perfect (I really expect perfection from myself) but it looks pretty good. After going to a few quilt shows and studying the quilting by others I realize theirs isn't perfect either (other than the computer-guided quilting).
Talking about future projects, I'm going to do the 50 Stars with Carrie; I started doing some on my own and have about 15 done so this will give me the incentive to finish them. QNS, these are not as time consuming as the SYE blocks. It takes me a day to do a Star but at least 2 days to do a SYE block. But I'm pretty slow compared to others. We can plod along at a slower rate and encourage each other. I'm also planning to do Dear Jane but not as a BOM or BOW. I'm just going to pick away at them when I have time; I've done 4 easy ones so far so this is probably a 22 year project LOL.
I'm definitely going to do QAYG for the 50 Stars but how in the world are we going to quilt the SYE blocks???? All those seams!! Hmmm---I think they're going to be really difficult.
I hope everyone is doing well and taking care of themselves. I'm having the same difficulties I had last year at this time but I'll check in from time to time. Please keep me in the loop for any future "rides" together.

Anael your kitty just wants some loving, so cute. Thank you for the link to the pattern for the Table Topper, might make it one day but not in Christmas fabrics, that way I can use it all year round.
JanRN only computerised quilting machines can quilt perfectly, unfortunately us mere mortals don't have a computer chip in our brains. Don't be so hard on yourself and enjoy the process and remember you are doing it
My plan for January is 1 Star block per week (that will take me all year to complete), 2 Sylvia blocks per week (that will take a little over a year), finish my Scrappy Stars and finish my Pam Bono Out of the Darkness. If I start anything new can someone please have me committed to the funny farm (this does not include my little charity quilts, just saying)
QNS I hope your new glasses give you the sight you need
Honchey I hope this thread remains, it is where I catch up with all my friends each day. Even though we are heading in different directions next year, in regards to BOW's I feel that we will still come together and share our lives here on this thread. Please drive carefully, I can't imagine how scary it must be on icy roads.
Now to finish making my Pumpkin Soup and after lunch back to the Bargello, I feel like I am on the downhill slide now I am over the halfway mark
