Very true bookworm.

Karen, depends on how I move the projects I am working on along, I may join the quilt along, I don't have the book, but it seems like all of these blocks have free patterns somewhere in the cyber world.

I started cutting and piecing more strips to make yet more string blocks, going on a ski vacation this coming week, so will get back to it when I get back. How is everybody coming along?
Emma, I am still waiting to see yours. Bookwork? Sadiemae? Karen? Nobody is allowed to get discouraged, you all will still have way more points in your quilts than I do in mine

I decided to add a border. I wanted the quilt just a bit larger, and also tried to tie the sea green in better. So these are just strips, but I liked the effect. I still think this quilt is too busy for me, and the colors just don't do it justice. But at least it's done.

I'm hoping to get back to Orca Bay next week. We've been out of town so I haven't worked on it for a few weeks. I'm still making the triangles in black and whites. Love SaraSewing's extra piano border and may do one too!!

PS-Sent a PM to Patrice for a New Quilt Story thread-quilt along permissions. Will let everyone know about it.

SaraSewing,

I positively love your quilt! If you bind it off using your black, the piano keys will tie in beautifully with the center.

Please do post a photo when you have this one completed. I can't wait to see it.

best,
d

Black binding would look amazing with that border.

Question

Did anyone find that the more blocks you put together the less picky you became???? I am finding that there are so many blocks to this quilt that I just have to let some things pass(perfect points????) that I would usually unsew and resew. I really just want to get more accomplished and finish this quilt.
What about you????

I agree Sadiemae, I really did not worry about them too much. I don't think anyone will notice when it is all done and over. It is such a busy quilt, there are going to be some imperfections. That was ok with me!

Yep, I am in the same boat. I started sewing the rows together yesterday and hope to get it done this weekend. At that point I will post a picture, weather permitting.
