Pretty, pretty, Auntjo.

Anael 10-02-2014 05:57 AM

Very lovely Auntjo! Love the colours :)

mirabelle 10-05-2014 11:01 PM

Ooh pretty blocks Auntjo, I am "almost" ready to get back to sewing Sylvia blocks, I have not left completely just too too busy.

Anael 10-05-2014 11:26 PM

'Almost' is ok Mirabelle :) :) I know you'll get back to Sylvia one day!

wks. 19 & 20. These were a lot of fun actually. I used up some of my little 1+" sample squares that I've had for lots & lots of years. Did discover on one that I turned around the placement of the blue & yellow, but I don't have any of the blue left & it doesn't really make a lot of difference in the grand scheme of things - so it stays.

Anael 10-08-2014 07:09 AM

Love your blocks Auntjo ! ! !

LAQUITA 10-08-2014 04:42 PM

Okay ladies needing help on the A10, Bachelors puzzle block. I've never sewn "y" seams before. Any tricks ? Easier way to make this block maybe???
Thank you

Just home from the Panama and looking through the forum, great blocks and WOW.... you've been busy auntjo. Not sure when I'll get into the sewing room, but thanks everyone for keeping the pictures coming to inspire me!

I skipped week 33 and 34.......I'm so sorry! What do you want? It doesn't make any difference and I think it might be confusing to insert those weeks into the next assignment.
It only means when you think you're finished..............you're not :) :) :)

Hi Anael: As I'm so far behind now I think it would be fine for you to post as "SKIPPED BLOCKS" and then we could each work towards getting them done in our "extra" time.... just my thoughts, and thanks for posting the assignments.

Anael 10-12-2014 09:58 PM

Thanks Thimblebug, that's a great idea. Will do that in between the assignments.

Wks. 21 & 22 - and I about have my fabrics honed in from the stash for the Bonnie Hunter MQ to start next month. My Farmers Wife is on the Tin Lizzie w/the pantograph picked out, a couch size music quilt top ready for quilting on Tin Lizzie next (for new "stepson"for Xmas), and the pieces for a kit "Chain Link" king size all sorted & read to begin cutting.

laurafet 10-24-2014 07:50 PM

Wow Aunt Jo! You've been busy!! Your blocks are beautiful! I have not touched mine in weeks. Working on baby stuff for new grandson to come in January, and 2 quilts I was asked to make for 2 co-workers who need them for Christmas and only asked for them in late September. Soon though, I need the break to work on something for ME!!! Miss everyone! Any new weekly assignments Anael?

Anael 10-24-2014 11:14 PM

Wow Aunt Jo!!!! Those blocks are beautiful. Look at all those points........perfect ! ! !

Yes Laurafet, new assignments are coming. As most of you are a bit behind I thought I'm going to post the skipped weeks only so that gives you all a bit time to catch up.

mirabelle 10-26-2014 10:21 PM

Thanks Anael, I am way behind, but I WILL catch up. I made 2 last week but they are not the assigned blocks so will put them aside for a later date.

Beautiful blocks Auntjo, you sure are busy...

Anael 10-27-2014 05:30 AM

Here are the assignments for the skipped weeks.

week 33
H 3 Sarah's Choice
L 1 Friendship Quilt

week 34
J 6 Puss in the Corner
N 2 Card Trick

I tried to find blocks which are not too hard.
The next assignment will be on November 16th.
Good luck all :)

Wk. 23 & 24. Can you tell I'm not working on the other stuff right now. But these are kind of addictive...

Anael 10-27-2014 11:48 AM

Very pretty Aunt Jo :)

thimblebug6000 10-27-2014 04:43 PM

Great blocks auntjo..... and thanks Anael.... of course we just came home after another 4 day stint away.... And I guess my biggest stumbling block to catch up is... I'm trying to machine quilt our winter bed quilt on my sapphire....and my friend who has decided to quit quilting..... I'm going through all her bins.... choosing the ones I think will fit my style.... washing etc them and then.... finding homes locally for the rest of her stash. She has bins of samples from fabric companies....and no...she/we are not able to mail/ship/post pics of these.... whew... and so ... it may be some time before I am in a position to get back to stitching my Sylvia blocks.... I've already figured out that I need to plunk my retreat machine on my dining room table if there's any hope at all of me stitching in the near future... BUT.... please keep posting your pictures everybody to keep me in the right place!

Anael 10-27-2014 10:42 PM

Don't worry Thimblebug, one day you will get back to Sylvia. You will have more stash to choose from :D :D And we will be here to admire your blocks!

And so.... no more sewing for the next little while...but just in case you didn't believe me... here's a photo of the fabrics I have chosen....washed..dried....folded.... still on the guest bed though...ugh.... sure hope I can figure out a plan before any overnight company arrives! I have bags in my truck to deliver to local church groups etc.... ...

giquilt 10-29-2014 08:00 PM

I am so sorry I have not been able to keep up. Sylvia is currently a WIP. I will not even think those other letters so it will not come true. Still enjoy looking at everyone work.

mirabelle 10-29-2014 11:07 PM

giquilt you can bring up the rear with me, I have fallen behind (sometimes life just gets in the way). I did cut 8 blocks today and plan on working on them at patchwork tomorrow.

Thimblebug6000 what a wonderful selection of fabric to choose from

Anael 10-29-2014 11:25 PM

Wow thimblebug, lots of quilts in your future :) Can you show us the quilt on your guest bed please?

Giquilt, you're not alone. Maybe you'll get back to your Sylvia one day. Like Mirabelle said, sometimes life gets in the way.

Lucky I had a picture on file as it may be a few days before it gets uncovered. This is when it was on our bed, It was an Appliqué in a Day Pattern that I added the large central square to by taking designs from some of the other blocks and adding them to the one larger center area to make it large enough for a queen size bed.
It's machine appliqué and hand and machine quilted. The book was one of Eleanor Burn's methods where you use fusible interfacing & turn your pieces so you aren't working with raw edges.

laurafet 10-30-2014 04:39 PM

Wow Thimblebug! Lots of fabric choices and a beautiful quilt. Hate to say it ladies, but you've all made me feel so much better about being behind on my blocks. We'll all catch up (or not! LOL!). Love this group!

I'm going to try to post the new blocks that I have finished without saying what week etc. If you don't recognize something...it may be because after numerous attempts I could not do that block. It was holding me back from continuing so I found other block patterns & just kept going.... I'm still 12 blocks from being current but here's what I have finished up to today.
