I haven't posted in ages as I had finished all my blocks.
I have also finished all the blocks in my Loyal Union Sampler quilt and what I have done is make four extra blocks for my SBS as I would like to make my quilt with twelve blocks across and twelve rows down. This then left me with 4 blocks short- so here is are photos of the four extra blocks I have completed. I chose these blocks from the Loyal Union Sampler quilt book by Jennifer C and they are :- D2 - Emancipation. D5 - Fond Farewell. D9 - Gerda's Puzzle. I9 - Spotsylvania Court House. I now have to start adding the sashing to both quilts ! |
The blocks are beautiful Dotty! I have the book too, made a few blocks but I don't think I will do the whole thing.
Love yours!! Can't wait to see it all together :) |
DottyD----lovely blocks. Love your fabric selection.
|
Thank you very much Anael and Blue Bell, the thoughts of all that sashing is daunting - but I did it with my Dear Jane - so I will get there - be it eventually LOL !

I'm not a part of this post, but I like being able to look at your beautiful blocks! I also look at some and say "I have that fabric!" Nice work everyone! Keep it up!

Such beautiful blocks auntjo!! Could you please make a group shot? Would love to see them all together!
Just keep making those blocks laurafet! One day you'll get there. And if you don't want to make all blocks you could use an alternating block and make a quilt with those. I started a second Sylvia, got bored and didn't finish them. I also started the Farmer's Wive and didn't like those blocks. As they're all 6" finished I made a quilt with those blocks and used a 9P as alternating block. |
This looks like a Dear Jane Quilt. Any specific colorways you are recommending?
|
1 Attachment(s)
No, not really. For the Sylvia blocks I used mostly greens and blues, the FS blocks were made with scraps in all colours. For the alternating blocks I used a white on white and a blue paisley. I also used the blue paisley for the borders.

Oh Wow!! That is stunning Anael! I will finish eventually- life just got in the way. Everyone keep posting as you go!
