Great blocks giquilt! Your Kansas Troubles looks wonderful, mine looks so stark!
|
Those are lovely blocks giquilt!
|
Oh, no.........I'm late getting started but hope to join in. I have the book and the desire - now.....just the time. Love the small blocks. Wish I had read about it a bit earlier but will do what I can. Thanks for the inspiration.
|
Quiltshaker, it looks like I will not finish the blocks for this week in time too. So don't worry, just do what you can. There's no rush, just have fun!

The more time you take in quilting the better design you come up with.
|
I made 4 out of the first 8 blocks today. I picked the 4 easiest to get some momentum going. I will post pix when I have all 8 done.

Hi,
I am doing my SBS and wondered if you would like to see my progress. Clicking on each block will enlarge it. I love this journey !! http://www.amiga.talktalk.net/index.html Dot in England, UK. |

Thanks Dot and you're very welcome!
I love your Christmas Sylvia and your Christmas Jane! |
Finally caught up! I have a nasty case of shingles going on so I can't sit and concentrate for very long. My sewing room is downstairs so for this I brought it all up to my dining table. Easier to walk away for awhile. The challenge does take my mind off the pain....the pieces are so tiny...can't wait for next months batch to come up. Really going to try and stay on track with this one!
|
Crqltr, I'm sorry! Hope you will feel better very soon.

Week 4 blocks + 1
The third block is because I did not look closely at the Name of the block we were suppose to make for this week. There were two Mother's….. on page 51. I made one and then realized it was not the correct one and made another. I guess I will be ahead one block at some point. |
I worked on my fifth block. It was the one with the curved piecing. I used the curve master for the first time ever. I always feared curved piecing. It came out well but I had a lot of one fabric hanging over when I was done, as if I cut the quarter circle piece too big. Was that my mistake or did others have the same issue? I still need to do the appliqué. I will have that block and the last 3 done sometime this week.
|
Giquilt, beautiful blocks! It happened to me too when I was doing the BOW with Linda DeTray :)

Here is my redone Bowtie block. The first block I made I eliminated that Y seam but it looked like a big block so put my big girls panties on and did it correctly:D
Anael thank you for the list of upcoming blocks, makes it easy to plan for each week:thumbup: |

Finally! I am ready to join in. I had a 3 year old lone star that needed borders, now ready to be quilted. I now have trimmed and machine sewn binding onto 4 king sized quilts, 2 twin sized, one lap quilt and one Christmas tree skirt. I have the rest of the winter to get the binding hand stitched. Excited to get going. Photos soon.
