I've heard of being anal retentive but this takes the cake. Does she not realize how ridiculous this is ?????

You know, it might not be directed toward you. I worked in a place one time where if you had a good comfortable chair and you had to take leave, someone else with a poor chair would switch chairs on you. If a person left employment, their chair would be taken by a current employee rather than letting a new employee have the good chair. It's amazing how much "chair envy" is out there :>)

I do understand your "What the ...?" response at the locked chair,

    BUT -

I also relate to wanting to keep one's chair "as is" - I've spend HOURS trying to get a chair to be more or less comfortable!! Or having to try to find another one.

I've also worked as a temp - and a regular.

I've assumed as a "temp" that it works out better to defer to a "regular" employee.

The "teacher" needs to write on her report card: "Does not play well with others!" Even if there is some very good reason why she should have dibbies on this chair, the way for her to handle the situation is on a face-to-face basis, with polite explanation and request, as well as a solution to the problem that you, also, need a chair, and presumably the job description did not specify that you bring one with you.

The guys where I worked would hide that chair. Sometimes people would spend hours looking for their chair.

Fun to watch but glad I wasn't in on it.

I went on a tour, 6 of us and a driver. A mother and her daughter took the front row. I figured we would all switch around. Not so, they took the front seat everyday. They even got up before 6am once, went to the van and put their bags inside all over the seats. Selfish selfish women! Thanks for the pic.

    Unhappy

When I taught at a parochial school things "disappeared" so often (usually after Sunday services) that we tried locking up our chairs, desks, etc. Small things we took home, especially files, but larger objects that were hard to move stayed........ sometimes. So we really sympathize with the employee. Maybe she has past experiences like this.
