Too funny. I am always finding misspellings and bad puncuation in books. Drives my daughter nuts. I am always correcting her speech and I am not an English teacher.

I am so sorry but I had to laugh - you missed the first 't' out of 'punctuation'!

Thanks for the chuckle. I agree, proofreading is a dying art.

I write up and type out our church bulletin and alway's proofread and read again so as to avoid these types of mistakes. I actually had someone tell me they were waiting until the day I pull a blooper. Told em it would be a cold day. I am often tempted to put one in just to see how many people catch it and bring it to my attention. My sick sense of humor I guess.
Take it from me. Some will enjoy pointing out your errors. Ask me how I know.

My friend, Louise, lives in an independant living facility...we always laugh at the menu offerings. For instance, tonight they are serving "stufed pastashells with vetetable soup." Yum, Yum...can't hardly wait!! Wonder if they'll offer "crakers" with that?

It's not just newspapers. Was watching the news in Phoenix one day about ten years ago. Announcer said "Blah Blah School for the Blind was vandalized last night at about midnight. There were no eyewitnesses to the event. Police are requesting anyone with information......" I thought for sure it was a joke until they started running the video.

I am the church bulletin person as well, and I proof it, and then proof it again, after spell check! And there are times things slip by! I just figger it gives some people a good hobby!

I find mistakes in books all the time. Some times I think the books are dictated, and then transcribed, and things slip through! The word usage is always funny. I get a kick out of it!
