I'm sorry I haven't been with you all today. I slept until noon today, so I am really just waking up.

We are survivors and thrivers! Bumps are just that, little bumps to make us realize it is time to re-assess our situation. I have lived through many negative issues and decided that I am enjoying life and living, to heck with the negativity.

We struggle to lose weight because nature works against us. But we will prevail as we are stronger!

Irish, I loved the wedding pictures and the ones of you in your dress. I thought you looked refreshing and beautiful.

Karen, You are valued and loved.

Missy, what a talented and compassionate woman you are! Just send a physical card, that way he can't send bombs of negativity.

Nancia-I admire your learn it and do it attitude.

Xylie-keep with it! You ARE LOSING.

Charity-crafter, the heat makes me melt.

Rita's Mom- I just saw a thing on heat and weight gain. Everyone has a problem with water retention and intentions when the weather is smothering.

I lost my 41 pounds by staying at 1200-1600 calories and eliminating salt from my diet.

Hi all. You guys are awesome! I also have learned to fix most things myself with the first instruction coming from my dad and my husband. Can do elect. pluming fix some minor things on a car. irrigation. and many other things. I have always been a helper to my DH when he has done remodels to our home I love being independent. Just can't abide a person not willing to try something just because it is viewed as a mans job or a women's job.
Missy just a card mailed is all I would do just because of the relationship you have had in the past. Just don't open up yourself to heartache.
MJ hope you felling better today,
Only down a couple of pounds but not giving in still in this for the long haul. I am losing
Hugs to all

I know when I get stressed and overly tired my food intake goes haywire. It certainly has since July 1st. Well today starts a new week and I'm going back to writing down everything I eat and drinking water like crazy again. I usually weigh in on Tuesdays so maybe I can wash away a pound or two. Hubby is doing better and is getting more stuborn so we'll see how the week goes. :)
Well,I'm with you. It's time to get going again, and continue on losing this weight. This is the first time we all come to this point at once,so not bad.We are going to have speed bumps along the way,no getting around it,but once we're past it,we pick up the pieces and continue on.I've had many speed bumps.but still have managed to lose 90 pounds in spite of it.We just get back on and continue on.It's all we can do.We are not quitters,My prayers are with you and your hubby.

I agree,we have to try to help ourselves if at all possible. With you tube and the know how on the internet,I have learned a lot watching video's.A lot of these things are just basic stuff.I just have to go slow and remember where everything goes.Like the electrical,I did one wire at a time {with the power off of course} so I wouldn't get mixed up.Not really that hard to do.Anyway, same with our losing weight,we all will get it off eventually. And even if we get to our goals,we still have to continue on to keep it off,so for me it's going to be a life long process. And when I reach the end,I will still come back and help the next ones to get there. And so on.We can do it,if we stick together we can move mountains. And we are doing just that. Our mountains are turning into hills, and then we will be on level ground. That's the bonus to this group and why it is so successful. We get to not only lose weight, but excess baggage along the way.We get to fix mind, body and soul.

Hello everyone. I'm back from South Georgia and being with my sister, Judy, and family the past 2 weeks. Judy is doing some better although she has drastically declined. Bless her heart. I sure enjoyed being with everyone. I enjoyed having Judy all to myself at night. We spent a lot of time talking. It was hard to leave but I promised her I will go back in a few weeks and stay another week or two. After being with her for this time and assessing her daily as to her condition, I do not feel she is in what we call the "active dying process" in Hospice. If I thought she was there, I would have stayed indefinitely, but I just dont see it. She is majorly depressed. Oncologist put her on meds so I hope those kick in soon and help with her depression.

Oh my goodness at the food and sweets I had facing me every single day. Cakes, pies, home made cookies.....fried squash and ocra, fresh from the garden, fresh creamed corn from the garden.......okay, here is my confession. I ate a slice of cake the first 4 days I was there. I knew I shouldnt eat it, but its like I lost all good sense about me. I ate home made cookies several different days. I drank soda and now Im having horrible headaches trying to come back off sodas. I was furious with myself for eating so much junk and drinking sodas, which took a while to get myself off of. Now I have all that to go through again. But, its already been 2 days with no soda. Now that I am home, Im back to a house with no sweets, no soda. Most fattening thing here is popcorn and my fat free chocolate pudding snack packs.

There were some nights I did not eat dinner (or supper), since I had eaten junk food during the day. 1 night I had a helping of fried ocra as my dinner. 2 nights I had fried ocra and creamed corn as my dinner. A few nights, I ate nothing for dinner as I was plum miserable from all the junk I ate. I knew I had to face the music and weigh in, once I was back home. I had worked so hard to get that 27.1 lbs off. So, this morning I weighed. I am THRILLED to say, not only did I not gain back any weight. I lost an additional 1.5 lbs so Im now at a total weight loss of 28.6 lbs. wooooo hooooo. I ate healthy today and back to drinking just water. I am SOOOO close to my 30 lb mark. Then I will be 1/4 the way to goal. Sorry, to write so much!! Thank you all for your prayers for my sister, Judy!!! Have a good week eating healthy. I plan to SOOOON be yelling with excitement from hitting my 30 lb mark. Goodnight to all. Sandy

Welcome back, Sandy. I understand how hard it is not to eat your childhood foods, especially when you were concerned about your sister. You did well to lose more weight. How did the new knee hold up? Being the caretaker means being on your feet a lot.

Today's almost over. I hope everyone had a peaceful one.

We are losing weight.

I had good days and bad days with my knee. Oh my goodness, after just the first night with Judy, and all the going back and forth and back and forth between her bedroom, the living room and kitchen, my knee was really bad the next day. She lives in a big house so I did a lot of walking. She saw me limping the next day and kept apologizing saying, "I know Im the reason for your knee hurting so bad today and Im sorry". I told her, no, Im still recovering from surgery, is why my knee was hurting. I sure didnt want her feeling guilty. I sat and propped it up every chance I got and used ice pack off and on each day. I have done absolutely nothing but take a shower today. Resting, propping leg, ice packs off and on all day......best thing I could have done. I'm going to bed soon as Im tired and my head hurts from coming off sodas again. I hope you have a good night as well. Sandy

Welcome back Sandy, I am so glad you are back!
I stayed on track all day with my eating. We were at a horse show all day so I wasn't home being tempted to eat. Dinner was a pasta salad with light ranch and watermelon. Very yummy after sitting in the 100 degree weather all day. I hope tomorrow goes as well.
I hope everyone has a good day tomorrow!:)

It is so hard staying on track when you have company for the weekend. Some day I hope that eating for my health is my lifestyle and not just something I do to lose a few pounds.
How do you exercise in this heat? I can't even think about going outside for a walk when the heat index is 109. If I walk when it is over 72 I get overheated and get a migraine. I guess I could drive 18 miles (each way) and walk in the mall. It might be time to look for a good exercise dvd. Any suggestions?

As I tell my 13 year old GD, put your shoulders back, your butt under you and smile. Good advice for all of us.
Yes,that's right. You hold your head up high and be proud of who you are and what you have accomplished raising your children. It's not easy to do the right thing, but we have to for both our family's sake as well as your own.You can not live with a lier and a thief,it's his problem and doesn't define who you are.You had no choice.I would of done the same exact thing were I you.In fact I have.It hurt like hell and ripped my heart out to do it,but had to be done.I lived, and now have a better husband to me.
