I have two dogs, a boxer named Buster, and a mixed breed lab named Twinkie, and a black cat named Boo. They are all rescue pets.

5 year old Great Dane, named Checotah who we got as a sister to eight year old Jordan the English Mastiff and a small black cat named Jesse James who we call JJ. JJ adopted us and it is always heck in my home due to JJ is bound and determined he will rule the home and the two dogs will obey his rules. JJ usually wins. It is so funny to see JJ back down a Great Dane and a Mastiff. JJ is only 5 lb and the Dane is 175 lbs and the Mastiff is 139 lbs.

I only had cats while I was working. They are independent enough that they do okay with part time owners. After I retired I adopted a dog. She was a great companion, I lost her to cancer a couple of weeks ago, still miss her. After Christmas I plan to rescue another dog. They give companionship that is unrivaled plus they get me outside to exercise.

Cats are my favorites. We have a number of rescue cats here. I really never wanted dogs. That was until I got my sweet Cookie 15 years ago. She was a rescue too. She was my best friend for twelve years. We lost her after twelve years. It broke my heart. My DGD moved in with me when she was one and Cookie was her constant companion. I know that's why dogs would be her pick here.

One rescue dog, mixed terrier breed, four outside cats and one inside cat. We feed many more cats but they don't come close to people.
