I have had "KICKING LEGS" as I called them since I was a child. Funny though I must have a mild case because it only happens at night and only if I'm very tired and fighting going to sleep. Once asleep I'm all better.

I was thrilled to see on tv one day that it was an actual problem BUT when I heard the side effects of the drug I said "no way" I'll just go to sleep.

I would imagine it would be a terrible thing to have them during the night and in the day to the point of ruining sheets.

I sympathize with all of you.

I read that until just a few years ago the doctors thought it was a psychosomatic disorder, then a researcher found the gene in a DNA study. At that point all of us with Restless Leg Syndrome started getting respect from our doctors.

My Dad had RLS and it would start early in the afternoon. He really suffered with it but would not take the meds regularly. He would actually beat on his legs. Even when he was dying his legs were jerking constantly. He was 86 when he passed. I really like your rug.

Have you had your calcium and magnezium checked? My sister and I both notice having more problems like that with our legs when we aren't as good as should be with these vitamins. It can really make a difference.

Nice rug. I have had restless legs since I was a child. My aunt would take me to the movies and I couldn't keep my legs still and she would be very impatient and I couldn't help it. It was worse when I was pregnant. Then later in life a dr. told me I could take a low dose of neurontin (gabapentin) when needed and that changed my life. I don't take it all the time, because I read that tolerance builds and you need more. I read on a RLS blog that those Robitussin cough gels are similar in molecular composition and I have used them with some success too. I don't have low iron and I do exercise regularly, but still am bothered now and then. It goes in cycles for me - sometimes really bad and sometimes eases up.

OK. Educated.
I am sitting at my computer right now bunching my legs because it is starting. Trust me , it is real. It's not just restless legs, my legs actually hurt. I also take a parkinson med. for it at night but it's starting to start earlier in the evening now. I have to talk to my Dr. It's one of those clubs you don't want to be a member of.
My grandson is like his mom who grows so fast that he gets growing pains; especially at night. A few years ago I was introduced to Arnical Gel and you can get the pills too for buising and as I researched it I found out that the atheletes use it for aches and pains and this is what I use on his legs and it really helps. I recently dropped a heavy piece of furniture on my toes (all of them on one foot) none were broken but doc said that since I have osteoporsis that it will take a long time to heal; the arnica gel really helps. I get it from the health food store and I like not having to take pills as much.

Love the rug, for the restless legs, a bananna daily will help. It is real & you can feel it coming down the leg.

I am so glad that my restless leg is not that bad. I can take my homeopathic and I am fine. I have noticed if I have to take Flexril or a pain pill it gets worse. Go figure.

Nice rug BTW . Good recycle.
