Hi, i#m part of the retired club as well. I took an early retirement from teaching 10 years ago after 34 years of teaching....well I do still supply teach on occasion. I love staying at home...maybe a bit too much. I do go to the gymn on and off with my hubby who is retired as well. I do spend a lot of time sewing and quilting. I go out mostly to run errands. I love to travel but limited because of income. My hubby makes a coffee run every morning to get my coffee at Tim s even if he doesn#t drink coffee. lol I leave my t.v. on all day and watch it as I sew. Retirement is a blast...well except for the little aches and pains of getting older..ha ha ha!!!

I am 81 and the days go by way to quick, I have to push to get things done on time. Like someone else said, I don't know how I had time to work, cause then, I got things done, I guess because I had to, now, I can put off until tomorrow.....

I retired from 33 years of teaching in 2003. I cook, clean, quilt, etc. I do anything I want, when I want, how I want, where I want. I miss the children and people with whom I worked, but I do not miss all the paperwork. If they would have been more worried about what teachers are teaching kids than the paperwork, I would most probably still be teaching.

My day can be summed up with few words! I do anything I want to!! Love running around with hubby and usually finding a new place for lunch, if we are out. He is a great cook and we like being in the kitchen together. He is a stamp collector and I quilt. Sometime we are in different ends of the house all day, but find time to eat! It is a wonder we don't weigh 200 pounds!

I am semi-retired due to health reasons and will retire next May when I can be on Medicare. Have been a RN for 43 yrs and know I will miss coworkers and patients but am looking forward to being retired. My 2 sisters both live here and they are already retired and we plan to do some things together regularly when I retire. Walking, going for coffee, lunch etc. I do plan to do some volunteering with Hospice, Meals on Wheels, Library. I like to wake up on non working days about 7, read my devotions, make coffee, watch Good morning America, Live with Kelly and Michael and then the view. All the while I am reading emails and Quilting Board etc. By then it is 11 am and timed to get off the couch and shower get ready for the day. That is a day with no appointments etc. Then pick up, do laundry if necessary, sew/quilt/read. I am a widow so I can eat when and what I want. I enjoy being home and doing my own thing - but also belong to a guild and sew with friends frequently. Love to go to retreats with sister and friends. Get together with High School girl friends several times a year. Life is good.

I love being in my home. I start the day at 7:30 feeding and caring for our pets first, then DH and I have breakfast and sit down and read our lovely newspaper with our coffee. We always have way more to do than what we like, but we have learned to take it easy too. I would love to quilt some each day but it only happens about two days a week, sometimes more if I am on a mission. I do make many quilts in one year and several purses too. We love to go to thrift stores and check out vintage sewing machines, it's addictive. We alwaysread and watch TV in the evenings. I think so many people do not give retirement a chance, they get involved in 'things and stuff' and don't take the time to relax. I am so very grateful for my life today, my DH and I are very happy together.

I have been retired since 1992. I loveit. I get up when I want. Drink my tea-spend time on the computer(too much).
Spend time on quilting, reading. Don't cook much, very thankful for my microwave. Play with my dog and just enjoy being healthy. I also travel quite a bit. Life is good.

i'm still figuring it out. a friend told me it takes at least one full year to become accustomed to it. for the first time in my life i have enough time to do the things i should have been doing for the last 45 years--housework, organizing, etc., but my heart just isn't in it. i retired because the hubby needs assistance because of his parkinson's, and some other health issues. some days it feels as though i never left the hospital to retire. i'm finally on a deadline, though, which might be the push i need. granny's day care will be getting two babies within two months of each other--two daughters will deliver that close together. they can't afford daycare, and i think i need the distraction. the house may never get organized, but dagnabbit, i'm going to have some fun along the way! (i tell the kids that i was already tired. now i'm just re-tired.) i think the babies are going to keep us young, or wear us out in the attempt.

I love being home, I'm a real homebody and hate going out, though I do have to get out for errands. I spend(waste) a lot of my day on the internet. Lots of reading, quilting, cooking and meal prep take up a lot of time. Before I know it, it's evening and time for some tv watching.
