Thanks for confirming that this a SPAM and a SCAM. I have caller ID, too, but I was concerned as they keep calling. I like some of the suggestions of how to discourage them. I may try some.....if I need too.

I have gotten tons of these calls. One day, I pretended I was a little crazy and told them I was so glad they called, my windows had been broken for some time, and I needed the glass replaced in all of them. Then I went on with all kinds of crazy stuff to where I ended up pretending to cry and wanting to end it all. I hung up on them. They called right back and my daughter answered and yelled at them for getting her mother so upset. They told her I really needed to get to a doctor, that something was really wrong with me. When she finally hung up, my daughter and I were laughing hysterically. I didn't get a call for a very long time after that.

It is a scam. Just tell them that is impossible that you would be having that kind of problem since you are married to a computer expert who would never allow that to happen to any computer you owned. They will not call back!!

Maybe it's me or true somehow but I keep getting these scam calls informing me of various troubles or a health warning and it seems to be the same voice. It is a man's voice, vaguely Pakistani-ish, is there one guy who is doing all this or do they train them to have the same voice. I once asked him who he was and where he was from, and he said..."I am Brian from Texas"....Well done Brian, you seem to be the industry standard for fake/scam phone callers. Or.....maybe....just maybe.....it is a real robot calling me...gives a whole new meaning to robo-calls. [eerie somewhat menacing music plays in the background.]

I get them and when they tell me what they want, I hang up. What about the IRS scam, that is big here in FL. Guess they figure they will scare the old people, and I tried calling back one time and number didn't work.

I have had that call and thanked them for calling that I will take mine into Best Buy right away. I knew it was a scam and paid no attention to them. I really got a laugh when they called the other day and got my retired intelligence officer husband on the line. Right away he said, what is your name? Your calling from China and named a city there. The guy started chocking up and hung up right quick. We haven't had anymore of those calls.

I get 2 - 3 calls a day. they are from india. now they say I have an ipa message. ipa is assigned just to your computer. unortumatey, I have a great company that I got I believe thru Microsoft that for $200 a year they take care of any problems I have. if I get hacked, or just to condense, sometimes the computer freezes, or I cant open a site that I have been opening for a long time. whatever reason, this company takes care of it. they are there 24 hours a day 7 days a week. they really are great. they sign onto your computer and take over. just have to get use to their accent (or maybe its mine). so when the bogus company calls I don't know if its for real. the company I contracted w/assures me they will never call. and I believe them. I have always been satisfied w/them. been 2 yrs not. recently I called Verizon (local telephone co). I cannot see the number the bogusc co is callng from as it says "un available). my phone co put a block on 800 w/unavailable numbers. perhaps you can try that.
