I love Olive Garden -- they do have a lite menu -- and on their regular menu I had the salmon with brocolli -- it came with no pasta or carbs. I love to load up on the salad bowl they bring.-- Mim

Good luck and sending good vibes on the doc visit tomorrow

The apricot chicken is their lowest calorie meal (I think) and it is very tasty. The breadsticks are 150 calories, 1 serving of salad is 175 and the apricot chicken is 400. Have fun! I hope this helps.

MJ, you don't have to eat it all. Bring some home for dinner.

Does shivering burn calories? It's below 30 degrees out.

Hope you feel better soon glassnquilts. Hope the doctor visit goes well purplemem. Doing ok so far the last few days, just went grocery shopping again too. I definitely feel the difference eating healthier brings, and am finally getting used to the lack of regular soda. Hope everyone's week has been going well.

MJ - I never had any idea how much salt was in cheese. And as for Chihuahua cheese they can just stay away from my chihuahua Lila. I know you'll protect Lulu.

As far as eating out I agree with others (remember Missy's recomendation) when you order ask for a "doggie bag" at the same time. Eat only a partial portion of your meal, take the rest home and make it last.

Friday is my weigh in day and I lost 3 lbs. My ticker shows 2 but I was in the negative with that. I was scared to log my loss because I'm always afraid I'll gain it back. I finally decided to log it because to be honest logging is logging everything, good and bad.

I made out my menu for today and have PT and water aerobics this morning. I'm going to be pooped! Still getting used to the exercise again. It doesn't take long of not exercising before you're out of shape again.

MJ hope your doc appt goes well, I'll be keeping an eye on your journey thread.

Well I'm off to do morning chores and get ready for PT.

One thing though PT ladies stress drinking at least 64 ox. of water a day to wash the toxins out that they loosen with the therepy. I would imagine that more toxin gets loosened with exercise. I've found since it's gotten cooler that I'm having a nuch more difficult time getting the water in. Does anyone else have that trouble?

Jeanne, You are doing well - you've lost weight, you're exercising, you sound healthier. It's okay to get tired. I love naps, but no more than 30 minutes - I used to take 20 minute naps, but somehow 20 doesn't do it anymore. I don't one take everyday, but have no problem if I am tired in pain.

I had to Google it - Chihuahua cheese is a soft, white COW's milk cheese named for the state of Chihuahua in Mexico where it was first made by the Mennonites, so Lulu and Lila are safe. Kraft Co-Jack made with 2% milk is my drug of choice, but it will stay in the store this week.

In an email, Dr Mark Hyman challenged his readers to go a week eating only 'whole' foods - nothing from a box, bottle or can. He did indicate that packaged or canned items like rice or beans were okay. I stood in front of my pantry wondering what I would have to skip. It's an interesting concept. He's starting a week long cleanse for health and weight loss that will include a 1000 participants. I won't be one unless the charge is minimal, but it would be an experience.

My weight was down a bit yesterday, but I doubt if it will be today. I ate pumpkin pie at a meeting last night. Why? It was terrible - from a box with a cheap Cool Whip substitute. I've been hungry for pumpkin pie, but that didn't qualify as one. I wonder if I can make one with one egg. My foot was too sore to stop for eggs last night. I was saving my steps for walking my furgirls.

Jeanne, send some housework energy my way. The older I get, the less I do. I could call Council on Aging for some help, but they can't declutter for me. I think I'll get rid of some 'school clothes' today. How many pair of dress pants with pleats in the front do you need when you wear none?

I wish you all a healthy, clean eating day.

I am losing weight and getting healthier.

Judy, here's a weight watchers recipe for pumpkin pie that my mom raves about.

    Crustless Pumpkin Pie

    1 POINT
    per serving

    Ingredients:

    1 can pumpkin (15 oz)
1 can evaporated skim milk (12 oz)
3/4 cup egg substitute (or 3 egg whites)
    1/2 tsp salt
    3 tsp pumpkin pie spice
    1 tsp vanilla
2/3 C. sugar (or Slenda) or to taste

    Instructions:

Combine all ingredients and beat until smooth.

Pour into a 9" sprayed pie pan

Bake at 400 for 15 minutes, and then at 325 for 45 minutes or until a knife inserted in center comes out clean.

    Serves 8
Whole Pie: 8 points (or ONE pt. for 1/8 pie)

    TIP!
Top this pie with a little fat free Cool-Whip for even more of a treat! Counts as a vegetable serving and high in fiber!

Thank you for the recipe. It sounds a lot like mine, though I use brown sugar and less milk. It makes a great breakfast. Now I need to put one in the oven before I go take my bath. Between Lily, Moira and me, the rice pudding is gone. Can't do fatfree CW - low fat works for me, especially mixed with a little lowfat sour cream.

MJ, some of the cheeses on that list aren't too high in sodium. I dscovered last night 13 mine rice cakes have 290 mg of sodium and the ranch ones in the pantry have 400. I don't have to watch my sodium, in fact I get dizzy and weak without enough, but it's scary how much is in processed foods.
